To finish out Paris Couture Week, I thought it might be nice to have something that’s not at all intellectual or challenging. If as many of you guys go out on Thursday nights as the people in my group of friends, then Friday morning is not the time to be looking at and making sense of Difficult Fashion. No no, Friday is the time for obvious things.

So, for the princess/teenage prom-goer/Oscar-winner in all of us, Elie Saab Haute Couture has the beaded, tulle’d ball gown that we’ve always wanted. In case you don’t have an occasion to which to wear a ball grown, there are a few super sparkly, pastel cocktail dresses as well, but don’t worry, they don’t skimp on the beading or tulle. Ever for someone like me, an Alexander McQueen fangirl that likes things dark and edgy if at all possible, it’s unquestionably fun to drool over something girl and light every now and then. Here’s your chance, folks.

I thought it was okay, pretty, I think I liked 17 pieces from the collection. but it’s very typical of Elie Saab though, I wanna see something different for next season

I like Elie Saab dresses. but my favorite one is 5000 GBP so it’s not gonna happen… but a girl can dram and admire.

What I like about Elie Saab is that you can tell he likes women. Sometimes with other designers you feel they have a passive aggressive attitude towards women. With his designs it’s good to be female!

Terri I think you said a mouthful!! I totally agree that Elie Saab has a certain passion for women and it shows in his design technique. I feel the same way about Valentino, everything he makes is so very feminine and not hard like some Haute Couture designers. These guys can easily steal a girls heart.

I looooooooooooooove Elie Saab. If I ever can afford someday, he’ll be the first designer that I’ll buy from besides Prabal Gurung who is from my native country Nepal.

Gorgeous gorgeous and loved all the pastels. Elie Saab seldom goes wrong and I’m sure we’ll get to see some of these collections on the Oscar Red Carpet! Can’t WAIT!!!

Thank you Amanda. also, just curious…did you actually attend all these runway shows or just watched on tv?

    • I don’t get to go, sadly. I watch the shows online to write these – but hey, if anyone knows anyone that can get me a ticket for a show…
