A few things come to mind when I think of the bags I like to carry for a night out. First, a top zip is really ideal for navigating overcrowded downtown hot spots where making your way through a sea of sweaty bodies is nearly impossible on any given Friday or Saturday night. Second, the bag must be roomy enough to hold my phone, cosmetics, wallet, and other miscellany but not too large that it’s cumbersome. And third, a design that hugs close to the body is ideal for keeping track of your belongings.
The Ideal Night Out Bag
Although I’d love to always wear a crossbody on nights out, I find that shoulder bags both look and feel chicer, and Dior’s latest bag feels just that, with a bonus; it’s also big enough to transition to a day bag.
I’m not quite sure where the name Dior Club came from, but instantly when I saw the bag, I thought to myself that it kind of is the perfect bag to take to the club. My mind flashed back to the days of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton stumbling out of LA’s hottest clubs with Dior bags from the early aughts tucked under their arms. Admittedly, I haven’t been clubbing since before the pandemic, but honestly, this bag makes me want to reprise those youthful days.
The Details
New for Summer 2023, the Dior Club bag combines some of the House’s most important codes, embodying the refined modernity that today’s Dior is known for. Stylish and chic but also functional, the bag’s silhouette is soft in form. Featuring a removable and adjustable shoulder strap and a dainty chain strap that also acts as a design detail, the classic Dior oblique print is further enhanced by the iconic D.I.O.R. charms and gold hardware detailing on the sides of the bag.
While the Dior Club is also offered in cannage leather, I love the look of the logo print in this silhouette. The bag has an open interior with overall dimensions of 10.5″ W x 4.5″ H x 2″ D. Purchase via Dior for $2,900
I like the bag but the price is an absolute joke. This is not about fashion anymore, this is about seeing how far they can go (and it’s not just Dior). Tbh I have lost my interest in today’s high end fashion. Even add campaigns make me yawn. I’ve seen too many celebrities hold up a logo in a portrait shot, I can’t take anymore of it x.x The interesting designs and photoshoots that make me dream are coming from younger and newer brands/designers.
It looks like a similar design to the Cult Gaia Hera bag, which is $375.
I agree.
The design itself is not practical and you can find it for less than 100 dollars at fast fashion brands.
Agreed. Politics do not belong anywhere near this page. This is our short lived escape from reality (at least some of us). Please let us enjoy it.
Like the bag’s look; HATE that pricing for a FABRIC purse. Just don’t buy them new and maybe (dreamin!) designers will figure out that they could sell more bags if they didn’t cater solely to the 1%ers.
Actually they are marketing to the younger generation who is driving the luxury market, even though they really can’t afford any of it…hence a club bag. Rich people don’t even buy this stuff! Kids go into debt to have it! This new generation is wild.
Why on earth are you bringing up reparations in California on a blog post about a designer handbag? Be better than that, Cindy.
By the way, no one is getting reparations in CA. All that has happened is that a task force will be releasing its recommendations on this issue. The legislature will still have to vote on it before anyone gets any reparations.
If you can’t see a discussion about the price of a Dior purse without feeling the compulsion to make a statement about reparations, then I think you might benefit from putting down your phone, turning off your TV, and try harder to focus on the real things going on in your life for a bit. I think it will do you a lot of good.
What preparations? I am in CA, and I don’t get any reparations. The designers are getting too greedy. Plus, this bag is no where close to what Dior is asking for. The asking price $2900 is such a joke!
Nevermind the price, this looks like a cheap generic bag made in a knock off factory because they had a few scraps of logo fabric and they didn’t want to just throw them away
Super cute! And if they were asking maybe $1400, I’d probably get it.
Is it me or does this look like a rip off of the LV trunk like bag with the soft sides?
Sigh. I had a Nine West bag in like 2004 that looked exactly like this. Like EXACTLY. It was about $125…
This is the type of bag is one that I would expect used to be a SLG under $1500 that someone added an additional third-party strap too to make it more functional.
