Escape to the French Riviera (in Spirit) with Dior’s Dreamy Summer Collection

Even if you're stuck at camp pickup, Dior’s Riviera line lets you pretend you’re in paradise

Dior Riviera Collection

There will be a summer in my hopefully not-so-distant future when I spend it leisurely on the French Riviera. I will sleep in, order room service, and read books while overlooking the Côte d’Azur.

This isn’t that summer for me. I am by the ocean, that is true, but I’m busy shuffling kids to and from camps, appointments, and doctor visits. However, if I close my eyes right now (I’m sitting by Millie’s tennis camp) and feel the breeze, I can imagine myself in my future summer of leisure.

A Future Summer, a Present Fantasy

I’ll also carry and wear all the Dior in that summer. Dior is synonymous with summer for me, especially with its Dioriviera collections.

A new Dioriviera collection hits yearly, tied into summer pop-ups and themed beach clubs. This season, exceptional creations – from ready-to-wear to accessories – are adorned with captivating Toile de Jouy Palms and Toile de Jouy Sauvage prints—very White Lotus-coded, if you ask me.

The Dior Book Tote: An Icon Reinvented Every Season

The Dior Book Tote changed the scope of the bag world upon its introduction, and one of the main reasons it has not fallen off is the way the brand reinvents it every collection with new combinations. This summer’s theme features Palm Trees, officially called the Toile de Jouy Palms Embroidery. The dimensionality of the raffia paired with the blue stitching would make for the ideal addition on my future Riviera trip.

The Book Tote was introduced by Maria Grazia Chiuri during her time at the brand and defined her legacy. There’s a simplicity and beauty in the bag along with the print, which is fully embroidered with Pietro Ruffo’s celestial blue Toile de Jouy Palms motif. The scene offers a vibrant jungle scene with diverse wildlife.

The Blue and White Toile de Jouy Palms Embroidery extends to more family items, including the Lady Dior, Book Tote, and sandals. Each design rounds out the offering, giving a fully integrated collection that transports you to a completely different area.

Even if you are sitting at camp pickup, being eaten by mosquitoes, and waiting for your child to tell you that lunch wasn’t good enough.

Fabuleux

As a native of the French Riviera, I can confirm that only Russian ladies in their 20s who date old oligarchs with a big belly and hang out by the pool at the Grand Hôtel du Cap wear any of the items presented in this blog post.

The way I can absolutely picture this LOL

Agreed. Anything Dior is considered tacky and nouveau rich in the French Riviera where i holiday each summer

Tacky said who? The taste masters of the French Riviera. Dior does some fabulous things and judging others is tacky.

Jolene

I agree that Dior makes some beautiful products but they don’t include anything that spells CHRISTIAN DIOR in such big font. No matter the brand, the billboard look is just tacky.

Can’t not judge when slave labor is involved. Dior lost all its lustre when this came out

I have a number of really nice Dior bags (none are the book tote) and it was really disappointing to read about those allegations. The thing is the whole industry is beyond greedy now, same allegations were made about Valentino and Giorgio Armani and I think that’s probably the tip of the iceberg.

Same old same old

I love the raffia and blue book tote!
