Dior’s New Tarot Bags and More Have Arrived on Bergdorf Goodman’s Website

Unfortunately, there is a small catch

It seems as though it’s becoming quite trendy for brands that refuse to allow their bags to be sold online to nonetheless display them on third-party retailers to whet the appetites of potential shoppers. Chanel has done it for a couple seasons in a row at Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman, and now for Resort 2018, a selection of tarot-themed bags, as well as ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories, has landed on the Bergdorf Goodman website for your window-shopping pleasure.

The pieces on virtual display are mostly from the portion of thee selection inspired by the feminist Motherpeace tarot deck, and those interested in mysticism will be able to pick out many card themes in the designs. The selection includes many versions of the classic Lady Dior Bag, as well as the J’Adior and Diorevolution, which are both new arrivals under artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri.

In addition to the close-up photos of the collection’s pieces, the most revelatory thing about the BG online pop-up display is probably the offering’s price transparency. Unlike Chanel and Céline, both of which also don’t sell their bags online in the US (although Céline will soon), Dior doesn’t include any pricing information with its own online lookbooks, which means all potential shoppers have to contact the brand in some way to plan a purchase. In this case, Bergdorfs is giving those shoppers an opportunity to have that information, at least about this portion of Dior’s wider Resort 2018 offering, at their fingertips.
