Perfect Pairs: Jimmy Choo and Joomi Lim

It’s late April, and that means one thing to those of us in our lates 20s and early 30s: wedding season is upon us. I already have a few save-the-dates under my belt, with invitations to arrive shortly, and as usual, I have no idea what I’m going to wear. Warm-weather weddings and my penchant to wear black year-round just don’t quite jibe, but there’s also no part of me that intends to buy a handful of pastel dresses just to make it to August. After all, I’m already buying gifts. I’ll probably find something reasonably neutral to get me through the handful of events on my summer schedule, and if I had my way, I’d pair that probably-grey dress with the Jimmy Choo Mini Tube Mirrored Clutch and Joomi Lim Future Perfect Spike Bracelet.

I picked up the bracelet at ShopBop last week and have been obsessed with it ever since. The multicolor spikes give the illusion of a color shift even though the gradient is static, which fits the season’s holographic trend without being so in-your-face that you won’t be able to wear it once the fad passes. The Jimmy Choo clutch, on the other hand, is a classic piece that you’ll be able to wear for years, and the deep pink color draws out the same shade in the bracelet. Because clutches and bracelets are so close together, the color coordination will make a big impact.

With a combination like this one, attending a summer wedding in appropriate grab wouldn’t make me feel quite so out of my element. If you’re looking for a non-traditional accessories look for any formal or semi-formal event coming up, I’d heartily recommend trying something a little non-traditional. Those are always the ensembles that earn the most compliments.
