Here’s the strangely Suri-less Katie Holmes, clutching at her burgundy Derek Lam Newton Camera Bag and trying to look inconspicuous while New Yorkers to her left and right silently (or maybe not so silently) pass judgement. I personally love the retro styling of the Newton Camera Bag – it’s reasonably sized, reasonably practical, and (relatively) reasonably priced at $1390 via Barneys. It also comes in black.
Now that it’s fall, celebs of all stripes are trying to keep a super low profile in standard NYC neutrals (here’s Selma Blair, failing massively). But in my humble opinion, Ms. Holmes, there’s no better way to draw attention to yourself than fastening that very top collar button.
Katie is keeping busy on Broadway this autumn – she’s currently in rehearsals for the black comedy “Dead Accounts”, which is set to open November 29th. Derek Lam, by the by, will be following in the footsteps of Narcisco Rodriguez this spring when he designs a capsule collection for Kohl’s.
