I'm only exaggerating a little. There are technically no children in this celeb roundup (wherefore art thou, Kiernan Shipka?), but Hermès is the undisputed favorite this week. Everyone who wasn't at the Met Ball was apparently on their way home from Morocco following David Beckham's lavish, three-day 40th birthday celebration last week. I actually turned 30 yesterday, but it did not involve four out of five Spice Girls, Marrakech, or my own trending hashtag on Twitter. I've already come to terms with all that.
Hermès Picotin Bag
I have to give serious kudos to the pap who IDed designer Carolina Herrera as she was shopping on Madison Avenue. Well done, sir or madam. We hardly ever see celebs carrying the Picotin, but it seems like a perfectly nice little Hermès bag. Maybe its small size works against it?
Here's EJ Johnson (Magic Johnson's son and a Rich Kids of Beverly Hills star) leaving Barneys in Beverly Hills with a nice, sunny yellow Birkin. "Men with Birkins" isn't a new phenonemon, but the Birkin is still one of the only handbags that male fashion fans like EJ regularly break the handbag taboo for.
Prada Double Tote
$2,680 via Bergdorf Goodman
Baby Spice was spotted heading for the departures gate at Marrakech Airport after David Beckham's birthday festivities. Apparently, the Beckhams celebrated David's 40th b-day by inviting all their celeb friends to Morocco for three days of lavish partying.
Chanel Wallet on a Chain Bag
Eva Longoria was also on the guest list for the big Moroccan birthday bash. Here she is breezing through that same airport with a little Chanel and a little Hermès. Fun fact: the only Spice Girl who RSVPed "NO" was Mel B. Scandal!
Chanel Boy Bag
Supermodel Irina Shayk has been on quite the Chanel kick recently. We also saw her shopping in Beverly Hills a couple weeks ago carrying a Chanel Flap Bag and wearing Chanel sweats.
MZ Wallace Jane Satchel
$365 via Bloomingdale's
Here's Jane Fonda at JFK with an affordable nylon handbag from MZ Wallace. I can't find any indication that this style was named after Ms. Fonda, but I get needlessly spend-happy when I find things with my name on it too, Jane.
Givenchy Lucrezia Satchel
$2,250 via mytheresa.com
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also recently cruised through JFK with one of her favorite Givenchy bags. Is the Lucrezia one of Givenchy's more underrated styles, or is it just not distinctive enough to get as much hype as the brand's other bags? I can't decide.
Gucci Swing Tote
$1,350 via Saks
Finally, here's Rumer Willis, leaving Dancing with the Stars rehearsals with a black Gucci tote. Amanda has asked me to be nice to the DWTS celebs, so: nice bag!
