Yes, this is the second celeb in so many days we’ve spotted with a brand new Balmain x Aurelie Bidermann Pierre Bag. Last week, we saw the Pierre on the arm of Miranda Kerr, and here’s the Pierre again, being carried by Diane Kruger. Miranda Kerr + Diane Kruger = good bag juju, if there is such a thing. In other news, I suddenly want to buy a floppy hat and a sweet pair of wingtips.
The Balmain Pierre is, of course, a collaboration between Balmain and Parisian jeweler Aurelie Bidermann, and it’s really the only Balmain bag that’s caused such a stir in the entire history of the brand. It’s made of luxe calfskin suede and has a faux ivory tooth accent on the zipper. The Pierre retails for a cool $4,350 and can currently only be found at Barneys, Harrods, and Balmain Paris.
I don’t get the fuss. It’s a perfectly nice bag, but it’s nothing we haven’t seen before, and that price is just outrageous. And I’d loose the tooth.
I’m inclined to agree. It’s really not a very interesting or eye catching bag.
