    Oh, that green Prada!

    • Nick

Anyone liking the new Celine? It doesn’t grab me as much as the trapeze.

      • anon

I’m not really liking it. I have a feeling that the “belt” part would be super annoying.

      • Nick

Would you buy the Trapeze on the new colorations that they offered, or is it a tired look at this point?

      • anon

Hmm. I still wouldn’t buy the Trapeze on the new colorations-there will always be combos that doesn’t/interests me, but that is because I am not a fan of it. I don’t like the super wide look that the bottom gives. I’m just not into the shape in general. I think its very fad for whats in right now. So I don’t think its a tired look as of right now, but time will tell though. Its the luggage, to me, that is definitely tiring at this point.

So, I’m 41 and I live in New York, so in that same Celine price range, what would you suggest is a cool bag to buy now but that would have longevity?

      • anon

When it comes to Celine, I would suggest the Trio to be honest. That would definitely have the most longevity. I actually think the Trio may never be out of style. It is also very discreet and understated, so it will be known to whoever is into fashion that sees it but at the same time it will loose the novelty of recognition. The same goes for the Box. However, rather than Celine, I think that Givenchy, Saint Laurent, or Dior would be much better for that price range. Besides Dior, Givenchy and Saint Laurent manage to be understated, discreet, and somehow recognizable which is definitely cool, especially for New York. Also, Proenza Schouler is very cool and very New York and cheaper than all of said brands, but not as mature. Overall, I would suggest looking at Saint Laurent (mature, cool, New York-y, and longevity), Givenchy (cool and longevity), Dior (same as SL, but it more expensive), and Proenza Schouler (cool and New York-y). Let me know if you’re interested in any of those particular brands, because there’s plenty of different bags from all of them that need more talking!

I’m loving PS lately. I think they are very now, understated, with great lasting power.

      • anon

Oh me too. I LOVE my PS11 Medium in suede. I never like to venture into suede, but Proenza Schouler’s suede bags are remarkable. And its such a classic shape.

      • anon

Oh and Balenciaga would be a good brand to venture into rather than Celine. Also, it seems to me that you like the Celine Trapeze which is a gorgeous bag. So I definitely think that you’ll be happy with a Trapeze bag if you get one.

I was thinking about a Balenciaga but I feel too old… The very young set carry those and the new styles they offered this year are too prissy looking.

      • anon

What?!?! You are NEVER too old for any handbag!! You can definitely be too young for one but never too old. You can be 80 years old while rocking an Alexander Wang and still be fabulous. Personally, I LOVE Balenciaga. I have never had any regrets with their quality, style, and longevity. I would definitely recommend a City or Velo, but mostly City with regular hardware in a demure color for a more mature feel. Its a bag that somehow manages to have longevity without being some sort of classic shape or design.

Bravo!! Thank you! Also last question.. My mom taught me is something’s too good to be true it probably isn’t.. Based on that fact,I’m assuming that as for “authentic” Louis Vuitton bags is a load of bull?? I’ll admit I peeked they the sight and they even has the fashion show pieces, and all the info on how they can prove their authenticity.. Clearly a hoax,Correct?

      • anon

Your welcome! I’m assuming you’re talking about Ebay or a seller that isn’t officially Louis Vuitton? An authentic Louis Vuitton bag means it comes from the brand directly and is 100% real. If you ever find something you’re interested the PurseForum will be more than glad to help authenticate pieces for you. Sometimes an item truly is authentic and is just selling for less because that its resale value/demand and sometimes it is just a really really good knockoff. Unless you’re looking for a specific item that you missed the opportunity to buy from Louis Vuitton (so pre-loved), I wouldn’t entertain the idea of a Seller selling new bags for less. Your mom would be right on that one.

      • Nick

Well when I click on purse blog, on the right side corner is an ads for luxury handbags w Louis Vuitton bags as the picture, when u click on the sight,it takes u to the sight of authentic Louis with several explanations as how they are able to offer these superb deals. I’m alittle surprised that the sight that dedicated itself to purses and the obsession of, would allow an advertiser with fakes on their website

      • anon

Oh I see what you mean. I don’t see them because I have ADBlock on, but those are links are for the actual brand website (ex. I can see an ad for the official Gucci site, which is official) or a cookie generated ad (ex. I can see an ad for authentic Louis Vuitton goods) which I would not even click on to begin with.

      Indeed! What a beautiful shade!

  • Renee

In love with Bette’s bag. Green with envy you might say. ;) brilliant color and I love the style.

    • Nick

That was very informative thank you!
So I already have the Givenchy zanzi tote and the proenza mini on the thin silver link chain, and I don’t love Saint Laurent or Prada. Too structured very office looking… That’s why I was going for the Celine… The Chloe’s weren’t really exciting me all those Baylee’s very sloppy and Lanvin offered too many gold chains and hardware… What’s your thoughts on Chanel? The Boy bag is too epensive, so what’s your thoughts now??

      • Renee

I agree, I think the Chanel Boy bag is the new iconic Classic of our time but just not very attainable for most people. I usually save up for a bag that I really really want. That amount is usually capped at around 2,000 which(yes, it is a lot of money), but I feel that I can still be okay with it. Unless I win the lotto, I personally cannot spend that kind of money on the Boy Bag and feel okay with it. Maybe my best bet is a pre owned someday?

dakota fanning isn’t actually carrying the tote…
