Louis Vuitton launched a new fashion exhibition in LA last Thursday night, and of course, celebs flocked to the event with their very best Louis Vuitton bags in tow. We've showcased a few of the more unusual selections from the launch party for you in today's celeb roundup, alongside the usual mix of celebs carrying bags in airports and outside hotels or TV stations. The exhibition, called "Series 2: Past, Present, and Future" isn't just an art exhibit, it's also a backdoor way for Louis Vuitton to show off their new line for Spring 2015. It's open to the public and free, so our LA readers might want to check it out. You should make haste, however, as it only runs through February 22nd. We'll expect a full field report.
Louis Vuitton x Frank Gehry Twisted Box Monogram Bag
You can always count on Alexa Chung to keep her bag choices interesting. Here she is attending the aforementioned launch party with the Louis Vuitton x Frank Gehry Twisted Box Monogram Bag. It's no surprise that Alexa favors the same little LV collab bag that Rihanna has loved for months.
Louis Vuitton Twist Shoulder Bag
Here's actress Brie Larson, walking the event carpet of that exact same show, carrying the Louis Vuitton Twist, which is fairly recent addition to LV's handbag line. It hasn't gotten a ton of traction with celebs since its debut last year, despite the fact that there are many attractive versions available from both the Spring 2015 and Cruise 2015 lines.
Chanel Python Classic Flap Bag
Here's model Chanel Iman, leaving an appearance on Good Day New York with an exotic python Chanel Flap Bag, natch. That pearlescent white snakeskin does not appear in nature, but I don't imagine that bothers many (or any) Chanel fans.
Lanvin Baby Sugar Studded Shoulder Bag
$1,182 via MATCHESFASHION.COM
Dakota Johnson was recently spotted stepping out of her hotel in NYC with a modest little studded Lanvin. Dakota has carried some exceptional bags during her 50 Shades press tour, we saw her with a hot red Chanel Boy Bag just last week.
Louis Vuitton Petite Malle Malletage Clutch
Allow us to turn our gaze back to that Louis Vuitton show for one moment. I love loud, flamboyant prints, but wearing one is bold enough for me on most days of the week. Dianna, however, has rather adeptly mixed three loud prints here, including the one on her dainty little Louis Vuitton bag, and it's pretty impressive.
The Row Carryall Tote
$2,345 via farfetch.com
Here's Kelly Osbourne, leaving a Hozier concert in LA with a tote from The Row that is having a serious moment right now. We just saw Reese Witherspoon carrying this same carryall in our last celeb round-up. I feel like The Row is maybe resting on their laurels a little with this one. It just looks far too 2D to me, as in it literally looks like a bag a paper doll would carry.
Hermès Ostrich Birkin Bag
Here's Lindsay Lohan, catching a flight from LA back to London, where people will actually leave her alone. She is carrying a bubblegum pink ostrich Birkin that she has had for several years. I could easily confirm this because people were pretty incensed when she bought it back in 2012, because she owed the IRS over $200K in back taxes at the time, and had also recently borrowed $100K from Charlie Sheen.
Victoria Beckham Leopard Simple Shopper Tote
$2,395 via Victoria Beckham
I don't know if anyone else can carry Victoria Beckham quite like Victoria Beckham. Here's Posh Spice blasting through JFK, all fashion and class, with a large tote from her own line that looks like it was made of an actual leopard skin rug. (I mean that as a compliment.) It's actually leopard print calf-hair, of course. I don't get excited about animal prints, but if I had my choice, I would happily take one of these over that The Row Carryall Tote. What would you pick?
