In a certain sense, the Grammys always have my favorite red carpet of the year. Compared to actors and actresses, musicians are generally much worse dressed and more poorly media trained, so you get a lot more oddities, a lot more personality and a lot more fun, as long as you’re not the type of person who thinks fun can only happen in the context of good taste. If nothing else, it’s a nice respite from the immaculately stage-managed “Hollywood glamor” of awards season.
Last night’s Grammy red carpet was unfortunately a little light on clutches–the downside of a more stylistically diverse red carpet is that plenty of people apparently felt no need to finish their outfit with a bag–but we still found nearly a dozen notable choices to zoom in on.
