A change in seasons doesn’t just bring new handbags into stores; spring has also arrived with a fresh set of makeup, skincare and haircare products to evaluate, and because your skin’s needs change as the temperature does, now’s the time to decide where your beauty budget is going to go. I’m a little bit product-obsessed, so I’ve been excitedly combing through the season’s new arrivals and launches, and below, I’ve gathered my shopping list. What are you looking forward to this spring?
Caolion Premium Blackhead O2 Bubble Pore Pack
$26 via Sephora
Caolion’s original pore pack is a holy-grail mask for a lot of Korean beauty enthusiasts, and this version is intended to take on blackheads more specifically. It just arrived at Sephora, and hopefully it will be sucking gunk out of the pores on my nose in the very near future.
dpHUE Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse
$35 via Sephora
My hair is very color-treated and sensitive to fading, so clarifying shampoo is basically out of the question for me, even though I could often really use something other than regular shampoo to get all the buildup out of my hair. This rinse is supposed to replace an occasional wash and condition, and so far, the feedback I’ve heard on it is fantastic. Best of all, it’s safe (and even good for) color-treated hair.
Dr. Jart Every Sun Day UV Illuminating Sunscreen SPF36
$34 via Sephora
I live in a very walkable neighborhood and near an enormous park, so I spend a lot of time outdoors in nice weather even when I don’t realize that’s what I’m doing. On top of that, I’m very pale, so having a sunscreen I like to put on every day is essential. This one has sun protection and ingredients to help you glow all on your own.
Glossier Boy Brow
$16 via Glossier
Everyone I know is totally obsessed with this stuff, and it’s finally available again now that Glossier has launched its second round of products. It’s high time I gave it a shot.
Herbivore Coco Rose Body Polish
$36 via Urban Outfitters
I’m a very lazy leg-shaver in winter, but as soon as spring hits, all I want to do is be smooth and soft. A good scrub with this stuff is the first step.
Milk Makeup Lip Marker
$20 via Sephora
I’ve heard a ton of buzz about Milk’s products lately, and this long-wearing lip stain looks perfect for times when you want some color but don’t want to wear a heavy lip product.
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics x UO Lip Tar
$16 via Urban Outfitters
Speaking of lip products: OCC’s lip tars are cult favorites, and the brand’s exclusive shades for Urban Outfitters just debuted.
Ouai Hair Oil
$28 via Sephora
Jen Atkin, hairstylist to the Kardashians and beyond, just launched her own line of products at Sephora; so far, this oil is the thing getting raved about the most, and it has arrived just in time to sooth moisture-starved summer ends.
The Estée Edit Pore Vanishing Stick
$28 via Sephora
While we’re on the topic of new launches, Estée Lauder recently launched The Estée Edit in a bid to pique the interest of younger consumers. This primer, among other things, definitely has my attention. So far, the reviews are great.
Wander Beauty Flash Focus Hydrating Foundation Stick
$40 via Sephora
My favorite foundation got discontinued this summer, and I’ve been looking for the perfect new product ever since. I didn’t expect to be considering a foundation stick because it hasn’t been 1997 in a long-ass time, but the feedback I’ve heard about this product’s performance on dry skin has been fantastic.
