I have a love-hate relationship with Instagram. It used to be a love-love relationship, but if I’m being honest, that has changed over time. I love that Instagram allows me to stay connected to my family and friends, even when we are miles apart, but I don’t like how posed and curated Instagram can be. It so often seems that Instagram has ruined our sense of reality, and on my personal page, you’ll find me joking about this all of the time. Those candids are never really all that candid, and that perfect latte picture took about 15 tries—by the time you’ve finally taken your first sip, it’s cold!
Even still, I love going back to Instagram for what it was when I first made my account over five years ago: fun, quick, consumable content. I love the endless amount of inspiration I can find just by opening up the app. I love being able to see fashion in so many unique ways, and I love that Instagram has made fashion so much more accessible. Just think about the fashion-obsessed teen in middle America who can be right in the thick of NYFW just by following along on social media. This year, the bag game was as strong as ever on the ‘gram, and though we’ve been following it all year long, as we wrap up 2017, we thought it would be fun to look back on our favorite bagstagrams of this year.
