As spring drags on, teasing the start of summer with NYC’s first heatwave, New Yorkers were graced with the first 90-degree day in New York. As it happens every year, though, the temps jumped right back into spring! Layering is the way to go during this time of year as mornings are chilly and evenings can dip even further, but that strong city sun will get you during those mid-day strolls.
The last couple of weeks in downtown Manhattan brought us an array of different outfits, a lot of layers, and a hearty bunch of bags! We spotted a wide variety of cute carries from Chanel Flaps and rare Louis Vuitton to vintage bags from Dior and Fendi, as well as a few unbranded mysteries we weren’t able to identify. There were even two extra furry appearances, but we’ll let those photos themselves do the talking. Check out a fresh new set of BITW below.
LOVE the red fuzzy outfit person. Elmo-chic!
Street style is the best of purseblog.
Thank you for the kind words, we love producing the content and are so happy it resonates with our readers!
I really like street style posts! I’m glad they’re frequent.
I also love the Fendi First so much but there is just nooo room for it in my life and I hate unused stuff. Eugh I wish I had an excuse to buy one!!
Love, love this post! I don’t care what celebrities carry, because they get free bags to advertise. I like to see what regular folks are carrying, who actually pay for them!
Serious question if you get the ultimate Birkin bag do you even rotate purses anymore? It just seems like once you get one its Birkin for life? I love rotating.
I still rotate my bags (i still have plenty of non designer bags that i like to use once in awhile) because i like to color coordinate with my outfits. The bag i will use depends on the color of the day. But there are plenty of times where i just wear a neutral colored dress and pair it with my birkin (color is orange) to bring that pop of color. But i do understand you. I have this “guilty” feeling that i should use my birkin more because i keep thinking about the cost per wear.
It is the same for me, very much as Gayle described. I rotate my bags not for the purpose of rotating itself but for the purpuse to select the best handbag match in size, color and style of the day and Hermes bags are just bags to transport around some belongings that I need to have it close when I am out. In my opinion, K or B are not the perfect match for everything, they will be on duty if it is the perfect match that day. I use my K when it fits, and I use it regularly but as regularly as a few other bags. I do not use any “only handbag bag” as B because it is too heavy for my arms with an ulnar nerve entrapment already operated.
The brown round bag might be a „Neutorgasse 1“ by Taschendieb Wien, an Austrian company. And yes, they really name their bags after streets in Vienna.
As someone who has been living in NYC for almost 10 years, I love how these posts capture the essence of how street style has evolved here to comfortable, casual, hobo, whatever you want chic. Other big cities around the world are full of snobby people dressed in designer brands from head to foot. NYC is inspiring because we are all just anonymous here and we wear what we like, what makes us comfortable and you really don’t get that feeling that people are trying too hard. It’s an effortless street style. We dress for ourselves. The outfits speak for themselves. I love you New York!
I completely agree with you! I was a college student in NYC 12 years ago and it’s really something to see how much New York City style has changed since then and my personal style as well. I’m sure we are biased but there’s really nothing quite like living in NYC!
I like the street style posts but it seems the purpose is specifically spotting/featuring big brands – not INTERESTING bags. Only when you scroll to the bottom are a few unidentified bags cobbled together.
These posts would be more interesting if you prioritized the bags’ style instead of the brand.
What you consider interesting may not be what I consider interesting 🤨. I think they do a great job of putting this together and showing a nice mix so stop complaining as this is free content.
“Stop complaining”?
How juvenile and obnoxious.
Love the look with the orange jacket and Hermes Herbag-wins the prize!
I highly suggest blurring the postal information in the Chloe Tess bag picture… it is still legible
Fair point, I’ve blurred it out.
Every single piece is beautiful! Love these action shots.
💗💗💗💗💗 everything about these posts 💗💗💗💗💗
So much eye candy! I love the Balenciaga bag the best.
