For today’s installment of Bags in the Wild, we’re heading back down to Miami to see what people at Bal Harbour shops were carrying while strolling, shopping, dining, and just overall being fabulous! Bal Harbour boasts some of the most amazing luxury brands and cafes and attracts Miami’s fashion elite, no matter the day.
The open-air mall feels like a tropical escape, and don’t expect to see the typical athleisure and ultra-casual outfits out to play when visiting. Patrons bring their best outfits (and bags) when dining and enjoying Bal Harbour. We spent some time in August strolling the shops to see what bags we could spot.
As always, Miami’s bag lovers did not disappoint! We saw plenty of stunning bags from the big buys — think Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and everyone’s favorite Hermès! Check out the full set of bags below!
I love seeing a slightly rumpled birkin. The pristine ones look a bit wrong to me, a bag like that improves with wear!
I’m not against a slightly rumpled bag, but I think a ” Holy Grail” bag deserves a little pampering.. a little respect… a lotta love!
I`m loving these tableside handbag stands 🙂 Never seen this before in Germany.
They are all over France, funny I have never seen them in the U.S until now.
I like them in theory but it seems like someone’s bag could easily be stolen if they are engrossed in conversation or their meal. I would prefer bag hooks attached to the table like they have at bars. I keep a Clipa handbag hook in my bag.
I totally agree ! I absolutely don’t do that even in the finest restaurants.
We have some places with bag hooks in Switzerland. And also bag tables — small footstools for setting your bag down. (I see the bag tables at upscale places in Austria too)
We were in an upscale restaurant in Paris where they set a small stool next to me, to sit my handbag on. I was extremely happy, because I had just purchased my first new Chanel from Rue Cambon, and felt like it was given special treatment. 🙂
Bal Harbour is extra in many aspects!
I ❤️ Bal Harbour! I was there when Barack Obama was running for President and he was in town. Several streets were blocked off and I happily took the scenic route from my gorgeous hotel to the beautiful mall! B.H. is a little slice of heaven on earth! 😍
Sounds like a beautiful place 😍!
Yes same here. Here most tables in the restaurants have bag hooks underneath.
These posts make me want to take a trip to Miami just to spend an afternoon bag and people watching at Bal Harbour.
Oh, the people-watching is fantastic at BH.
Wow!….I lived down the block from BH Shops in 2000 and went there ALL THE TIME….the most beautiful shopping experience!…koi ponds anchored by Neimans and Saks…Carpaccio for lunch…what a dream. MISS IT!…the only thing that rivals it is Worth. ENJOY!!
No Crocs allowed at bal harbour! 😉
You can see the notice on the escalator in the book tote picture
It’s Florida, maybe they mean no crocodiles?
Bea – This is likely not related to style. I used to work for Crocs – years ago they had several high profile incidents where children got Crocs stuck in escalators.
For certain, the mall doesn’t want any kids getting their feet stuck in the escalator slots!
That isn’t a giyard St. Louis. It’s an Artois
The tote was lacking the Artois’ signature four leather corners, I verified this from the other shots I took of the bag.
Great bags, would be afraid to place on hooks outside in public!
How about doing a bags on Bahnhofstrasse column someday 🙂
Zürich?
Yes 🙂
We’d need to see if we can find a local photographer to capture the style for us. We can do a call out on IG for it!
Not a fan of black handbags, but I could go for that black Louis Vuitton backpack. The skirt that the mini Kelly woman is wearing is too cute.
Why do all restaurants not offer a purse perch stand for our bags???
Can anyone speak to the sturdiness of the Dior book tote? Do they hold up well over time?
Mine does! It’s a work horse.
Oh yay! I’ve been thinking of treating myself to one
I once tried to fill my book tote with 2 very thick encyclopedias haha. Very sturdy shape remained the same (if it was my birkin im sure it will slouch more since i have it in swift leather) handles stretched by a tiny bit.
That’s wonderful to hear!
I like the bag trees best
Awe, SO good. I LOVE this property, the next best thing to Avenue Montaigne! Great photos – well done!
LOVE Avenue Montaigne! I purchased my Antigona from the Givenchy there.
I know this is a bag post, but I LOVE the outfit of the woman with the Kelly Mini. Does anyone know where that skirt is from? Her friend’s dress also looks lovely!
Amazing collection, Thank you for sharing
