During New York Fashion Week, I spontaneously became a very late-arriving member of the iPhone club. (Don’t make fun of me. I know it’s been out for like six years or something at this point.) I went in to the Verizon store to buy a new charger, I walked out 20 minutes later with a brand new, extremely fragile phone. I’ve had a placeholder case on it ever since in an effort not to damage my new toy, but I’m still on the hunt for my perfect case of the moment.
That hunt got significantly more interesting yesterday, when Net-a-Porter added a bunch of Weston Stone-Print iPhone Cases to its offerings. Agate, Labradorite, Jasper, Marble…it’s all there, up-close and in its naturally colorful glory. How timely that these cases should surface now, a mere week after Chanel’s gem-obsessed Fall 2012 runway show. I want them all, and I’ve got up-close pictures of my three favorites after the jump.

Within the accessories industry, runway bags have a very special spot. St. Patrick’s Day is one of those days when everyone claims they’re Irish. It’s fun to celebrate St. Patty’s Day because to most of us, it means wearing green, drinking green beer, eating green shamrock cookies, and having an excuse to kiss people. In all actuality, I am quite Irish, hence the name Meaghan Mahoney. I stick to eating lots of green goodies and wearing my favorite green accessories.
Irish or not, you don’t want to be caught without green incorporated into your wardrobe on St. Patrick’s Day. I picked out the nine best green handbags to wear for the holiday and carry throughout spring and summer.
When the weather starts to get a little warmer, my mind always turns to one thing: ROADTRIP! Never mind the fact that I don’t have a car because I live in New York, or the fact that it’s not quite warm enough for a trip to any beach within driving distance to be enjoyable. My internal clock is still tuned to Spring Break, and I’m starting to get that itch to drive down to the Florida coast like we did every year in high school.
Unfortunately, Florida is a lot further from New York than it is from Atlanta, where I grew up, and it’s not quite warm enough yet to make one of the beaches up North an enjoyable jaunt. I can still plan for that eventuality, though, and in a perfect world, I’d be packing my bathing suits and flip flops into a bag like the Louis Vuitton Keepall 50 Nomade. Normally we do our Save, Spend, Splurge features with different brands that achieve a similar look at a variety of price points, but everyone on the PurseBlog team is so obsessed with Proenza Schouler’s bags that we thought the brand deserved a post all to itself. Believe it or not, Proenza actually does offer its bags and accessories at a fairly wide price point.
You can even get the very expensive python look for less than $200, depending on your personal taste and accessories budget. The brand featured more purses than ever on its runway, and the results were excellent – most of you seemed to find at least a couple options that you’d like to add to your collection, in a perfect world. Well, get our your credit cards, ladies. Your world might be about to get perfect.

Unfortunately, that also means that we now know the prices for a lot of the utterly drool-worthy runway bags, and they might be a little rich for your (or my) blood. If you are in the New York area, plan a trip to the store and set aside a few hours to peruse the shoes. Of course, you can’t talk about shoes without mentioning the master himself: Christian Louboutin and to be honest, we think Mr. Louboutin’s bags have become essential in the accessory world as well.

Louis Vuitton lovers have been in luck lately. Perhaps no other fashion brand in the world is more willing to throw open its archives and allow others to examine its DNA, whether it be a retrospective on historical travel pieces or a rumination on the contemporary work of Marc Jacobs. At Le Arts Decoratifs in Paris, both can now be seen simultaneously in the Louis Vuitton-Marc Jacobs exhibit, open to the public until September 16.
The show examines the relationship between Louis Vuitton, the trailblazing trunk-maker of the late 1800s, and Marc Jacobs, the one-time enfant terrible of the New York fashion world turned pop-art impresario at Vuitton since his hire in 1997. The resulting exhibit is a jarring juxtaposition of vintage charm and modern flash; 150-year-old French gowns next to futuristic latex nurse’s uniforms, Vuitton’s original monogram trunk next to candy-colored handbags displayed like actual candy.
