Valentino Glamorous Tote

One thing that I really respect about the bag designers at Valentino is that not only do they know their theme (flowers), but they seem to try everything they can to work their theme in as many ways as possible. They’re one of very few large, well-known design houses that continue to put out things that are actually interesting to look at instead of just bags that will appeal to huge numbers of people and sell a lot of units. They may make less money on their accessories division that way, but I certainly appreciate their efforts with things like the Valentino Glamorous Tote.

Valentino Glamorous Tote

In real life, for the average woman, spending thousands of dollars on a bag covered in thousands of cream-colored petals is not a practical thing to do, but this bag lives firmly in the realm of fantasy. I saw it in person not too long ago, and the Glamorous Tote is just that – glamorous, and a creamy confection of a bag that is girly to the nth degree. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, and I have no idea where one would carry this bag, but I think you have to agree that it’s way more interesting and innovative than another black leather tote. Someone must have some kind of idea about how to carry it, though – Bergdorf Goodman is backordered. Buy through Bergdorf for $2995.

I saw this bag in person and the petals are hard and shell-like, reminding me of bags that my grandmother carried at the beach, but with smaller detailing. I would be afraid of the discs cracking or shattering.
At least the Valentino leather flowers can be carried; at 3K it needs to stay a fantasy bag

Definitely not my cup of tea! I’d rather enjoy this display of petals as icing on a wedding cake!

Saw this bag in person and it’s glorious. Seems like it would fall apart easily though. Posh Spice wore this bag with an aviator jacket!

I think that the bag is quite beautiful but I would never shell out that much money for something so impractical. I can’t think of a single place that I could possibly wear that bag.

Hmm my first reaction to this bag was “ugh” and the fact that it’s said the petals are very hard goes against what my impression of what petals should feel like. I want to feel like the petals will ripple in the breeze, not clank like a bunch of puka shells!

If those petals weren’t so delicate I would carry this bag everyday. I would pair it with white skinny jeans and Lanvin flats. Paring it with a boyfriend blazer and nude platforms would also make for a nice contrast.

To put it as simple as possible, it is UGLY! If I had the many thousands it will probably cost. I would not buy it.

Looks like they dropped this bag under a cherry tree in spring time. I hope it smells like flowers at least. I wouldn’t mind having one. Definitely a conversation piece. This bag would go well with a simple shift dress with neutral pumps. It should be the star of your outfit. Flower power!

It’s amazing! I saw this bag at Nordstrom and I’ve got to say, it’s more practical than you think. The SA showed me multiple ways to carry it and how functional it can be when needed. I wouldn’t carry this as an everyday bag, but I would carry it as my “wow- look at you-you’re incredible-so high fashion” kind of bag!! I adore it, it’s stunning, artistic and romantic…but I simply cannot afford it. I will accept a freebie :)

Heidi Montag also wore this, she actually wore it quite a few times, and I didn’t know it was Valentino. I personally thought it looked too busy. Super pretty as a piece of art, but not as a purse.

At first I thought any age can pull this off then I went to look at Heidi Montag with it http://coolspotters.com/handbags/valentino-sequin-satin-glamorous-tote/and/actresses/heidi-montag#medium-45133 It’s best for younger people. I didn’t expect it to be so big! I want this!! I don’t think it’s busy as long as you keep your outfit lowkey. This creamy color is better than the gray one. So pretty!
