Black and white will always be the combination known to deliver sleek and sultry style. Clean lines, fresh concepts, and edgy style, the black and white combo has been wowing the fashion crowd since the beginning of time. The Italian brand Valextra, that you will hear much more of, touts definitive excellence in each piece and has a stunning shopping bag that shows off the black and white color combo. The Valextra Shopping Bag shows off refined white leather trimmed in black for a perfect streamlined everyday bag. The price is $900 and it can be purchased at Valextra, Italy or via Barneys New York, NYC, (212) 833-2583, and Saks Fifth Avenue, NYC, (877) 551-SAKS.

Actually, black and white have not always been what they now are; it was Japanese designers like Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons and Yohji Yamamoto that made them typical colors of the fashion scene.

The only one italian store I know for Valextra is situated in Milan, the tube station is SAN BABILA, it’s more or less opposite to H&M, in the beginning of the street that leads to the Duomo church.

Mind that the shop in San Babila (a famous square in Milan) closed last week for ever. There is a new show room in Corso Manzoni, just 20mt from the La Scala theater.

Are the prices for Valextra sold in Italy, or in Europe, less than in the US? Also, are there Valextra outlets or good sales?

Valextra can be purchsed in Harrods of London as well as the boutique in Italy, and the prices should be the same wherever the goods are sold. They never go on sale either.

There is a fairly recently opened Valextra store in Hong Kong’s Landmark.

I’m curious about this designer. I love the clean lines and cream/white handbags, but how special are they really? Any Valextra owners?

I love this tote! I was just looking at it in dark blue with dark blue trim at the Barney’s location here in San Francisco. It seems like this posting is old, oh well! The fabric is strong but I was concerned it wouldn’t be as durable as I’d need for the price, but it was undoubtedly strong. The fabric seemed like a crepe canvas, if that makes any sense. Very unique. Their trademark white leather with black edges on the other goods is phenomenal, but I’m enamored with the dark navy tote. Suits me very well. I understand that the founder, Massimo Supancig (forgive the spelling, I’m going by memory) just retired, but I think he’s simply the guy who rescusitated the brand and brought back many of the expert craftspeople who had enormous talents of artisinal knowledge to execute the styles you’ll see at the Valextra website. Anyway, fun to see this here, I hope to see more Valextra on this blog again.
