Supermodels, reality stars and Kardashians are usually a large component of our bi-weekly celeb bag roundups, but their bag choices, while always super high-end, can’t always be relied upon to be truly interesting. This week, however, celebs of all stripes brought their handbag A-games.

This is not one of those celeb bag roundups where everyone looks totally relatable and down-to-earth, and half the celebs we feature are just grabbing some fro-yo in West Hollywood. This is one of those celeb bag round-ups where (almost) everyone brought their A-game, right along with their A-game handbags.
Celebrity fashion continues to drive home the fact that LA and NYC are polar (vortex) opposites, but the bag picks of half-frozen supermodels and bare-armed actresses on both coasts are always choice, even when the weather is less than idyllic. In related news, the Givenchy Mini Pandora has emerged as this week’s “bag for all seasons.”
It’s safe to say a lot of celebs started the week still a tad hungover from Golden Globes after parties, but in the days leading up to the Globes, everyone was clean-cut, (comparatively) sober and busy making the long journey to LA.
First things first: this list isn’t quite as comprehensive as most year-end lists you’ll read this week, because it primarily deals with handbags we saw celebs carry after June. To get a better feel for ALL the year’s best bag moments, you’ll also want to consult “The Best Celebrity Bag Looks of Summer 2014″ as well.

As I started looking through our photo agency’s recent archives, though, it became clear that it had to be; no other brand exerts the kind of dominance among high-profile women’s handbag collections that Chanel does.
Since we started doing daily celebrity coverage a couple of years ago, you guys have picked up on the same phenomenon I have: a star’s cultural clout is almost always inversely proportional to the quality of her handbag collection. There are exceptions here and there–most notably, Reese Witherspoon–but the reason that reality stars and tabloid fixtures love carrying designer bags is the same reason that many of us do, or at least why we did when we started.
Two days ago, Kim Kardashian did something that tends to garner her a lot of attention, both here and elsewhere: she carried an Hermès bag that was not in its original, fresh-from-the-boutique state. Kim’s a pageview boon all over the Internet, so fashion sites were quick to pick up on the debut of her new Hermès Birkin, painted by none other than baby North.
