On Thursday, my mom, brother, and I will be flying to Madrid. I am literally not in one place for more than a week lately. It is a little crazy but of course amazing. And this trip is strictly pleasure, just vacation, but that is not to say that I won’t be doing a little handbag browsing. There is one event that I will miss while traveling but would have loved to attend; the Jada Loveless Trunk Show and Personal Appearance. I first was introduced to Jada Loveless bags when watching Lipstick Jungle. Leiber Blaze Dragee Handheld Satchel
Judith Leiber is known for her novelty bags and use of crystals. Many of her bags are perfect for evening wear, showing intricate use of crystal detailing over a violin, pig, or heart and snake. The Leiber Blaze Dragee Handheld Satchel gives the familiarity of Leiber with the top handle adorned with Austrian crystals and adds a new touch with the pink leather body. The shape is familiar, resembling the Dior Babe with the top handles. This is not typical of Judith Leiber, and I am not sure I am loving it. I do love the idea of the top handles with the crystal detailing, but the leather body is not a color that I adore. The top is open and the body features gathered leather. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Today everyone wants to be Irish! Don’t you notice that on St. Patrick’s Day everyone begins to ramble off the list of relatives that makes them Irish. “Well my great-uncle’s sister’s cousin’s friends brother came over from Ireland, so I am Irish”. What it really translates to is “I just want an excuse to drink today, wear green, and sing Irish songs at the bar”. I get it. But when it comes down to it, I am indeed Irish. I was not born in Ireland, but my dad’s grandparents were. Megs is short for Meaghan, yes with all of those added consonants and vowels. No one spells my name properly, but it is the Gaelic way of spelling it. Tonight we are having corned beef and cabbage and drinking green beer. You think I am kidding? I was the kid at school after St. Patrick’s day that reeked of cabbage and still had my lips dyed green from the green water, milk, cookies, pancakes, etc that my mom made the day before. It is quite important in my family that today we all wear green. Many times I downright forget; so before I run out the door I grab a green handbag and then leave, it keeps me in the clear. Diane von Furstenberg Wrap Bag
We all know Diane von Furstenberg for her stunning clothing collection, mainly her dresses. There is not a season that passes that I don’t buy at least one of her amazing numbers. Her innovative design and casual feel appeals to all audiences. And while her clothing is top notch, her handbags that we have seen have ranged for the very affordable Floral Tote to the outrageous Gold Heart Bag costing $36,000. While her handbag collection has been few and far between, I kept yearning for the chic appeal that is seen in her clothing line on a bag. She has done it! I am enthralled with this bag. The Diane von Furstenberg Wrap Bag combines her house favorite wrap dress into a stunning leather bag, making a must-have option from DvF. This is the ideal bag that I have been waiting for from Diane, combining the practical ingenuity and the laid-back design. This leather choice is named denim, but it is very reminiscent of the fabulous Hermes Blue Jean color. The pale gold hardware adds a delightful subtle sheen and the wraps of leather straps finish off the look to make it very recognizable. This large tote comes with a small DvF embossed purse which is a great addition. This is a total must and now I am thrilled to watch Diane create new and exciting handbags for seasons to come. Mulberry Large Soho Bags
Mulberry has a preview of their Spring/Summer 2008 collection online, which has a new bag that I just love. There seems to be a lack of great mid-sized bags. I have the longest list of clutches that I adore and the longest list of large handbags that I yearn for, but the mid-sized bags either look too small, oddly shaped, or just wrong. My problem is that most large bags that I carry, I use to tote around. I would love a great mid-sized bag to put on my shoulder and actually have it fit and stay there, giving me use of both hands. Mulberry has added a twist on their Bayswater to a smaller version that may be just right. The Mulberry Large Soho Bags offer a soft scoop shape on this shoulder bag. The front features a large magnetic buckle closure with a tab. Another plus is the adjustable shoulder strap; so add as much or as little slack as you would like. Just like the Mulberry Basywater is available in plain leather and ostrich (seriously stunning purple ostrich!), so is the Soho Bag. They offer a chic coral ostrich Soho Bag which costs approximately $2,928. And in leather, there is both a chocolate and antique gold, costing $1,077.
