This trip in New York has been filled with the most stunning weather and the most Prada bags I have seen in a long time. I have been utterly shocked at seeing bag after bag of Prada. Is Prada the new bag of NYC? And these are not the nylon bags, they are the runway bags with large studs, prints, and non-recognizable to the masses. Today I saw a bag that again made me fall in love. While we were at a fashion show in a spacious and jaw-dropping loft overlooking the Hudson River there she was, the Prada Stripes Hobo in black. Of course it was in black, but I am not obsessing over the black, rather the purple hues. The violet medium hobo and dark lavender small hobo offer the perfect hue in a bag that I have already confessed my love of. Purple is associated with giving peace of mind, hence it is used often in offices and work spaces. Not only does it give peace of mind, but it looks amazing on blond hair blue eyed gals (can’t you see why I love it!). The supple Nappa leather on these Prada bags melts in your hands and the stripes add the perfect amount of dimension. Buy the small hobo via Saks for $1495 and the medium hobo via Saks for $2050.
On Friday night my parents had a dinner party that Vlad and I attended. Of course all of my moms friends know that I am the ‘bag lady’ and many times they ask me what I think of their handbag. The same handbag-loving-friend of my mom who carried the Michael Kors Watchband Clutch to the last event we saw her at was again carrying a new stunner. As she walked in the house and greeted us, my eyes were drawn to her Prada bag and as I stared at the bag I instantly fell in love. She was carrying the Prada Stripes Multicolor Small Hobo in the turquoise-violet combination which looked divine and really was the perfect size. The small version adds the right amount of color splash and spunk, while not taking away from the overall outfit or look. The leather is supple Nappa, which is smooshy to the touch and perfect to showoff the colors. The top handle and shoulder strap are detachable, but I loved this being carried with the small top handle. Dimensions are 9½”W X 7″H X 3½”D. I first posted about the Prada Trembled Blossoms Bag and found it captivating yet pricey for the small size. Now I find it captivating, pricey for its size, but worth it. Buy through Saks for $1675.
The information on the Prada Fairy Bags having ink bleeding problems is still trickling in. I want to share more information that I know so everyone can make their own judgment on the bag.
I have been a long time fan of Prada bags, but as of recently have not been completely and totally drawn into any of their bags (ok, we all know I loved the Prada Fairy bag but after the bleeding debacle I am somewhat over it). There is something about a simple, chic, feminine bag that really grabs me and reels me right in. The price is always taken into consideration, because while I wish I had an unlimited budget, many things take precedence over my handbag collection. So when I see a great bag, and an even better price, I am easily able to justify it to myself. Take the cute little Prada Nappa Mini Clutch for example. It is small but great to go to the bar and even better to throw in your larger bag (dimensions are 7¾”W X 4¼”H X 1″D). The bag is designed with nappa leather and features a bow detail on the front. We have covered the Prada Fairy Bag ad nauseum, but there is a piece of this story that must not be left out. Who would have known that artist James Jean would have added his art to a bag that landed Prada in the wait list of 3 months “it” bag of the season. Unfortunately for both Prada and James Jean, the bag will not only hold the remembrance of it being one of the most talked about handbags for 2008 but also having a horrible bleeding problem. That is right, the ink on the Prada Fairy bags is bleeding. As this issue unfolds, various members of tPF have come forward giving information, pictures, and evidence of their Fairy Bag’s print bleeding if water touches it.

Prada has been making a comeback for the spring and summer season. After the stunner that now carries a long wait list, the Prada Fairy Bag, Prada is trying to make it big with their multicolor vibrant bags. The Prada Trembled Blossoms Bag are an integral part of the campaign and are also creating quite the buzz. Coming in a variety of color options, such as fuschia-violet, turquoise-violet, and yellow-black, Prada is expecting to hit big again with this line of handbags. If you were one of the very lucky few, you would have been invited to Prada’s ‘SoHo Epicenter’ store in New York to watch the ‘Prada Trembled Blossoms video‘ put together by artist James Luna and based on James Jean’s Nouveau-esque wallpaper seen in the ad campaign. The short film is whimsical and enthralling, capturing the viewer from the first second to watch the transition of a cyber-woman’s journey through a magical Prada filled forest. At the end, she meets Pan who shows her how a tropical fish can transform into the stunning Prada Trembled Blossoms Bag. We reported earlier on the collaboration with James Jean in the Prada Spring Handbag line, which has received quite a bit of buzz. Our favorite thus far has been the whimsical Prada Fairy Bag, which we have previously covered. The bag that many of us have been buzzing about is the Prada Fairies Bag which features a plum art print on this deerskin handbag. There are top handles and dimensions are 10 1/5″H x 14 1/5″W x 6″D. Bright, bold and fun colors were (and usually are) found all over the spring runway. There is something that lures me into a simple handbag with a pop of color. Yes, the Prada Cervo Pleat Bag is an ordinary deerskin handbag with a pleated top, but the option of the stunning clear-ocean turquoise color makes this handbag stand out. This blue appears very similar to the Hermes Blue Jean, which is a versatile color that transforms an outfit in a heart beat (yes, I am biased!). In Milan in September, the Prada runway show was a buzz with Miuccia filling the runway with silk-printed tunics, cropped flared trousers, and nymph and fairy prints. The backdrop looked as if it was from a girls imagination of doodles and drawings while daydreaming. Miuccia’s focus was “about trying to find a new creativity.” The fairy print is the iconic print for the Spring season and is seen on their handbags, clothing, and even their shoe boxes.
