[Editor's Note: Everyone welcome our new intern Katherine!]
With summer slowly coming to a close (tear, tear) I am glad to say I fulfilled one of my biggest tasks of the summer season: finding the perfect back-to-school bag. This semester, my bag of choice is the Dooney & Bourke Large Zipper Pocket Sac.
As a commuter student in the city who has a part-time job in addition to interning here at the fabulous PurseBlog headquarters, you would be surprised at all that I can fit in my bag. With my books for class, my Audrey Hepburn planner, my Macbook, Kindle, and occasionally a packed lunch, I need a purse that is, well, practical. Of course, I also didn’t want to sacrifice the key things I look for when I buy a bag: it must be fashionable and it mustn’t break the bank.
While I normally buy a bag at the beginning of every semester (hey, it’s a great excuse to buy!), I wanted to broaden my horizons and buy a bag from a designer I didn’t yet own. While doing what I do best at the Woodbury Commons outlets, at the last store in my endeavor, I came across my new Dooney bag at the very reasonable price of $171!
The Pocket Sac comes in three colors (black, brown and saddle) and has two large pockets in the front. For any commuter out there they will understand when I say pockets, especially big pockets, are a girl’s best friend. These pockets are ideal for your metrocard, phone, keys, wallet – basically anything you may need at easy access. The strap drop is adjustable, and the gold accents, buckles and the braided leather zipper strap gives this must-have the perfect combination of chic and sophistication. The inside is just as great – it opens nice and wide and has a inside zipper pocket as well.
As for me, I chose to buy the brown color and I am very pleased. Today is my first day at PurseBlog and back at classes, and I managed to fit everything in my Dooney with ease. Try your luck at a Dooney and Bourke outlet store to pick up this amazing find, or shop similar Dooney and Bourke handbags via Macys.com.
