If you’ve had the chance to play with any Celine bags in person, you know just how drool-worthy (and just how expensive) they are. The brand does a particularly nice job with multicolored neutral bags, which is no small feat when you’re trying to create a unified aesthetic object that can function within a woman’s wardrobe. Usually, getting a look that sophisticated costs well into the four figures.
If you don’t want to pay that much for a bag that fits the clean, modern Celine look, check out the Furla Laila Belted Leather Shopper instead. Furla bags aren’t “cheap” by any stretch of the imagination, but at under $600, this option is far more palatable than the $1750 I just dropped on a Celine tote.
The combination of black, tan, grey and taupe on this bag is a very Celine touch, and I’m honestly a bit surprised that a mid-priced brand had the finesse to pull it off. Four colors of leather is often three too many for even the most competent designer, but they’re combined subtly and expertly in this bag. The alternate color options don’t succeed quite as much, but this one is a total winner. Buy through Nordstrom for $545.
