#PurseBlogWIMB: Meet an NYC-Based Reader With an Enviable Bag Collection

We asked you guys to share your bag collections, and now we've got the first set to share with you

A few weeks ago we asked you guys to share some snaps of what you carry in your bag. We are so excited to be able to get to know our readers and share with you guys more about each other! First up, meet Yana, an NYC-based reader with quite the collection of bags. We are smitten with her beautifully curated Insta feed, featuring snaps of the bags she carries, places she frequents and beauty products she can’t live without! We are thrilled to get to know her better.

PurseBlog: Why do you love handbags?
Yana: Bags are works of art—the craftsmanship of a well-made designer bag is incredibly satisfying to behold. Walking through a department store and browsing all the gorgeous bags from different designers (and mentally adding to my wishlist, of course) is a dangerously fun activity. I believe fashion is art you can wear, and bags are a huge part of that.

PB: What are 5 items you always have in your bag?
Y: I only have three mainstays: my wallet, my key holder and a pair of sunnies. I keep it simple.

PB: What was your first designer bag and how old were you when you got it? Why did you want that bag?
Y: My first “designer” bag was probably some Juicy Couture velour monstrosity in middle school—I was very into Marc by Marc Jacobs, Kate Spade and Juicy Couture when I was younger, and I remember buying my first leather Marc by Marc Jacobs bag on sale at Bergdorfs in high school and feeling really awesome. My first “big ticket” designer bag was a Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene Speedy 30. Thankfully, my style has evolved since then!

PB: If you had to carry one bag for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Y: Probably a Chanel flap that could be worn crossbody, like a mini or a Boy. I find that Chanel bags always look stylish and match a wide variety of outfits.

PB: What is the next bag you plan to get and why?
Y: Like most bag lovers, I have a never-ending wishlist, and Gucci is not making my life any easier! Their bags are so good right now. I’ve been wanting the Céline Belt Bag for a while, so that’s probably next on my list.

PB: Is the inside of your bag typically neat and tidy or a mess?
Y: Usually neat and tidy, but it can be a bit of both, depending on the day! I hate having a messy bag, but sometimes, after a day of shopping, it’ll be stuffed with random receipts and miscellaneous things.
