Good Afternoon, Purse Fans! Another week has flown by and that means it’s time to round up some of our favorite bags and conversations in the PurseForum Roundup. If you read here regularly, you know we can’t stay away from The Kitchen. And the Playground. And…well, you get the idea. We also visited some of our favorite designer subforums, including Chanel, Coach and more, and as always, we found plenty to share with you. (more…)
Purse Forum News
It’s Friday again, PurseForum Roundup readers! We hope you are having a wonderful summer, because folks over at the PurseForum sure are, and we found plenty of evidence this week of fun, shopping and so much more. Our members have been re-decorating, buying hot new colorful bags from Kate Spade, talking Television and Cinema, and so much more. Come join us and see what we’ve been up to!
We visited Home and Garden this week and were excited to see that LuckyDogMom has updated her thread and shared more of her beautiful home. This thread is about much more than decorating, and we always enjoy catching up and watching her transform her space – the wall of clocks was a stroke of genius for her veranda.
Our PurseForum gardeners are having a busy summer, and we seem to have several green thumbs among us. Theren has a nice crop of tomatoes, Aluxe showed off a garden (or is it a farm?) visitor and Echoes’ fresh wild blackberries stole the show. We love kitchens, and have a thread in Home and Garden dedicated to our member’s fabulous cooking spaces. This month, designer1 showed off her newly redecorated kitchen, and we are sure you will agree that she did a super job.
Kate Spade’s bags have style for days, and we love them. This week, we visited the Kate Spade subforum and found a few colorful reveals that really brightened up our summer day. Fatentaheera’s new bag caught the season’s mood perfectly, and paired with fabulous sunnies, it makes a combination that cannot be beat. Dusty emerald is one of our favorite Kate Spade colors, and TraGiv’s Minka looks resort-ready in this great summer shade.
Reenxo also picked up a Minka recently too, this one in French navy, another perfectly executed color from this brand. There are so many cute reveals this week in Kate Spade, you will want to take time to savor every one – like this fuchsia from NutsAboutCoach, or this sweet pair from LVLadyLover. If you are not familiar with all that Kate Spade has to offer, drop into this fun subforum and see what’s new!
The Random Picture thread is often quiet, but when it gets a bump, it’s always worth a look. This week, we found a lovely scene from Bali, where shinenim had a farm to table experience right next to a rice paddy. Also in General Discussion, we joined in conversations about the World Cup, honeybees, and rainy days. General Discussion is one of many subforums in our Playground, the destination for myriad fascinating non-fashion discussions.
Our current events subforum, Up To The Minute, has also been very busy this week – among other things, we are talking over the Facebook situation, the news-making nanny, the handsome felon and other breaking news. If you want to focus on the positive, we also have a whole subforum dedicated to nothing but Good News. Also, don’t forget to check into the Playground’s Television and Cinema subforum if your summer viewing lineup needs a pick-me-up.
Look what we found in Prada! What a gorgeous pair. Labamse fell hard for viola, and who can blame her? Super-saturated colors dominate page one of Prada, and this bifold wallet in stunning red certainly made pookspook’s day – and ours! Lots of threads in Prada this week seemed to be about making decisions, so be sure to stop in and lend a hand if you can! If you are not yet a Prada aficionado, you will find plenty of help in our Prada Reference Library.
Speaking of colors, salmon is not always easy to execute in leather, but this week we found a perfect salmon Prada revealed by lilyzhang0725 – one of the prettiest iterations of this color around!
Givenchy was certainly busy this week as well. Right at presstime, we spotted this Pandora reveal from PlaceboGiraffe, who looks great carrying this edgy and stylish bag – a strong choice for a first Givenchy! DebbieC picked up her first Antigona this week, a show-stopping black classic and a definite must-see! We also found several members looking for advice in Givenchy, along with another fabulous reveal from Spethyla, who found a pretty blue bag at an amazing price.
Last but not least, we had to share this summery bag family photo from Grande Latte, whose Bottega Veneta bags capture the spirit of the season to perfection. Happy summer everyone!!
With that, we wrap up this edition of our PurseForum Roundup. We only scratch the surface each week, so we invite you to spend some time on your own, exploring and finding your own favorite haunts in our busy fashion hub. You can see that we have something for everyone, and we hope you will find a conversation to join and maybe make some new friends. In the meantime, have a terrific weekend, and happy week ahead. See you next Friday!
Happy July! In America, of course, July 4th means picnics, fireworks and red, white and blue. We would like to wish all of our US readers a very happy and safe Independence Day.
The PurseForum reaches far beyond America’s shores, and this week we joined members from far and wide in Dior, Bottega Veneta, The Jewelry Box and more. Come on along with us to see what they have been up to!
In Handbags and Purses this week, we paid a long-overdue visit to the 2014 Resolution: Shop in Your Own Closet thread. Occasionally a member will venture outside her closet and make a bag purchase, but overall this contented and supportive group wears and shares bags they already own and love.
This inspiring thread is full of eye candy, and right off the bat we spotted cupcakegirl’s luscious Balenciaga all ready to step right out of her closet. We also found threadstarter eggtartapproved had done a bit of shopping, but what a score! One returned bag yielded several new ones, and egg definitely deserves a thumbs-up!
In Handbags and Purses, in our wonderful thread for Recent Purchases, we regularly find bags not often seen on the PurseForum. On this visit, we ran across Haan’s study in blue from Moynat, Whispersale’s gorgeous vintage YSL, and Buckeye Mommy’s Bottega Veneta Cervo in bleu electric that stole our hearts.
Finding the unusual and out-of-the-ordinary always makes our day, and it’s something we all love to experience on the PurseForum. Our members have such different backgrounds and tastes, and this diversity makes our forum really sing. This week in the Jewelry Box, we happened upon the popular new Real Native American Jewelry thread started by susieserb, whose spectacular coral cuff is pictured here.
This thread features history, famous collections and archival photographs, along with our knowledgable members’ stunning pieces. Our Show Me The Turquoise thread is still going strong, too – in case, like us, you cannot get enough! We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all our members for sharing their treasures with us in these very special threads.
On our way out of the Jewelry Box, we dropped into the Layering and Stacking thread – one of the most active threads in the subforum – and came across einseine’s lovely ensemble above. Another fun thread caught our attention, too – the What Jewelry Are You Wearing Today thread, always interesting and always sparkling (and a great way to get to know our members)!
In Bottega Veneta, we found a double reveal from crazybagfan, who obligingly included updated family photos, too. Teddyraph’s reveal thread should have come with a sunglasses-required alert, because this new fuchsia tote is blinding – her first BV is really a showstopper!
Metallic bags are not always easy to style, and some brands have not hit their stride with executing this sometimes tricky concept. Bottega Veneta has mastered the metallic, as evidenced by this beauty in bronze belonging to chiisaibunny. This thread has a surprise ending, so be sure to keep reading! For more members and their fabulous BVs, please visit the Bottega Veneta in action thread right here.
We are so excited to share the elegant Diorissimo we found in Christian Dior this week, courtesy of a very excited Sunnie_518. Happily, this bag also comes with an equally beautiful wallet, which you will find in this pretty family portrait.
Other reveals in Dior include a magnificent red patent Lady Dior from smudleybear, and momkeymomo’s incredible collection thread. Diorissimo fans will love this reveal from hightea_xx, a classic bag with a surprise on the inside! There are so many reveals (like this one) on page one of Dior this week – we know you will enjoy your visit and hope to see you there!
In Mulberry, Donna.west44 has been switching up her collection, and this delightful pair of bags is the result. Handbagaholic has been busy online, and shared several new Mulberry items in her reveal thread. Scrapsy returned a bag from another brand and came home with a Mulberry that makes her heart sing, which is how it should be when making a significant handbag purchase.
Selling bags no longer in your frequent rotation is a great way to fund new purchases, and if you are considering either buying or selling a bag (or two), please visit our eBay subforum for help with online auctions, or our Shopping Resources threads to find bargains, shopping tips and sales.
Thank you so much for stopping by for this week’s edition of the Roundup! We love sharing our PurseForum conversations with you and hope that you enjoy them just as much as we enjoy sharing them. We want to wish our members in the USA a safe and happy 4th of July, and please remember to ensure your pets are safe as well, July 4 is a tough day for them. And for everyone else, have a great weekend and week ahead!
Good day, PurseForum Roundup readers! Unbelievably, it’s the last Roundup for June, which puts us halfway through 2014! This week, we visited Jimmy Choo, where we found some beautiful reveals of shoes and bags. We also found some super finds in Coach, including a rare bag marking a Coach milestone! A visit to the Wardrobe had us pondering our personal style, and there was loads to see in Louis Vuitton. And that’s not all! (more…)
It’s Friday again, and that means another fabulous PurseForum Roundup. We always have lots going on throughout our Forum and are happy to bring you a collection of highlights. This week, we visited a couple of islands – Ban Islands, that is, as well as our Playground for some television and book fare. We also found some scrumptious bags, so come on along and join us! (more…)
We’re back again for another edition of the PurseForum Roundup. We are here every Friday to bring you a selection of the best conversations and handbags and accessories popping up on our boards. This week, we head back to two of our favorite destinations – The Jewelry Box and The Kitchen.
But we didn’t linger long, as bags in splendid, saturated colors were popping up in every subforum. We found glorious blues in Bottega Veneta and Givenchy,, plus so much more. Come join us for this week’s best!
We can’t seem to say away from the Jewelry Box these days. This week, we discovered some new finished projects in the Pandora thread. PurseForum member Stumbeline has been hard at work on her pretty green-themed bracelet, and vannarene shared her intricate creation, complete with evil eye charm.
We also learned about the shrinking diamonds phenomenon, or rather, learned the name of the phenomenon we are quite familiar with! Cartier lovers continue to keep the Love Bracelet thread at the top of the page, and our thread on Jewelry Buying Resources proves once again that PurseForum members love to help each other shop.
Every subforum seems to have beautiful blue reveals this week, like this Givenchy Antigona from sugarcoatd, who was thrilled to share her very first Givenchy purchase. She definitely started out on the right foot!
Hellokittie has started a thread asking for help deciding on her Antigona purchase, so if this bag strikes your fancy, this conversation may help you in your decision, too. LH405 was lucky enough to have three bags to reveal this week, which are perhaps more food for thought for your next bag purchase. We have loads of advice and reveal threads right now in Givenchy; this brand has really hit its stride and our PurseForum members have definitely taken notice!
Here is a whirlwind tour of some more of the fabulous reveals we found this week around the forum: Men’s Tumbler knocked it out of the park in the color category with this wallet from Bottega Veneta in signal blue, our new favorite color ever. Also in Bottega Veneta, sale purchases are starting to show up, hopefully reveals will not be too far behind. Visit this thread for the latest on our members’ sale finds.
In Proenza Schouler, Smiley13tree also wowed us with color this week, as she revealed her new PS1 and included a family as a bonus! Also in Proenza Schouler, the sale thread is still a hot topic as members snatch up fantastic deals, like this wallet on a chain from mytnguyen26. Nothing beats a new bag, except a new bag at a deep discount!
A super sale is underway on Mulberry bags as well, and our members are wasting no time jumping on the bandwagon. We found another double reveal from thelittlestar, and seriously – we can’t keep our eyes off of that beautiful green tote. Handbagaholic found a beautiful jacket, and aerinha selected a fuchsia Lily to add to her collection.
Lots of conversations are underway in Mulberry this week; members are looking for opinions and posting gorgeous action shots. This is a fun, conversational and friendly subforum full of lovely ladies and wonderful bags – we hope you will drop in and join in!
It’s been a while since we pulled up a chair in The Kitchen, and we missed a lot in the I Ate This thread. We, and that includes you, have a lot of catching up to to with our five-star PurseForum foodies. These triple salted caramel cupcakes from ninjanna are pretty darned impressive, particularly since she made them herself.
There are also some mouth-watering desserts, a German food extravaganza, and a peek at ninja_please’s sausage-making party! Are you in the mood for something and you don’t know what? Maybe this thread will help – we discovered a few cravings we didn’t know we had! (key lime pie, anyone?)
Also in the Playground, there is always a buzz in our Television and Cinema subforum. This weekend’s season finale of Game of Thrones, has some of us giddy with excitement (and fear); we have quite a lively discussion group (no book spoilers) for this blockbuster!
If bloodspilling is not your thing, bring your cupbearer over to the Real Housewives threads (we have several), or get some ideas from one of our absolute favorite conversations – Netflix: What are You Watching? Couch potatoes always find good company at the PurseForum!
Last but not least, at presstime, we found cdinh87 irresistible reveal in Chanel, which you will not want to miss. Look for more Chanel bags next week, right here!
Well, that does it for this week! We only sample a fraction of the subforums and their conversations, and we hope that you will spend some time exploring other areas of the PurseForum. The bags are wonderful, as are the accessories and shoes, but our members are what really make our community sing. We look forward to sharing more next week, and in the meantime, have a great midsummer weekend – we will look for you right here next Friday!
It’s June! I know we have been ticking off the weeks since the dawn of the PurseForum Roundup, but it still seems unbelievable that it’s already June. This week, we dropped into Home and Garden and the Wardrobe and found some sure signs of summer. We also stumbled upon several Gucci reveals and visited Make-Up and Beauty to see what our members have been bringing home. We hope you will join us as we bring you all of this and more! (more…)
Happy Friday, PurseForum Roundup readers! We are finishing out May in high style as we visit Chanel and Hermès and share a few other choice reveals with you from around the PurseForum. We also wanted to catch you up with our Celebrity forum, which has been incredibly busy this week. Come on along with us for our last Roundup of May! (more…)
Welcome to the unofficial start of summer in the US! In America, we traditionally ring in summer on Memorial Day, which falls on Monday, May 26th, this year. We have been looking forward to summer since Christmas, it seems! This week, signs of summer were everywhere – in Balenciaga, we found a particularly sunny yellow bag ready for summer. We also visited Home and Garden and some other designer destinations, so come on along and join us in this week’s PurseForum Roundup! (more…)
Well look at that, we’re midway through May! Our members are out and about shopping, traveling and, of course, snapping photographs of their bags and fashion ensembles. We caught up with Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Jimmy Choo this week, and made a stop in The Wardrobe where we found a great new thread well worth a visit. All this and more awaits in the PurseForum Roundup, so come on in! (more…)
