Both Moda Operandi and Heritage Auctions are well known for their abilities to wrangle rare fashion pieces into something a little more friendly for online shoppers, and when they get together, it usually means good things for the bag-buying public.

This week, celebs have surprised us with a few rather obscure handbag choices from lesser-known brands that are at the peripheries of our radar, as well as bags from the major brands that generally have a lower profile.

Bag: Dolce & Gabbana Margarita Python and Leather Tote

Price: $3,495 via Net-a-Porter

Why It’s the Bag of the Week: This bag is like a master class in the effective use of exotics. The bag is a minimal take on a classic shape with a simple leather body, all of which accentuates the gorgeous grey python flap closure.

Every few years, designers try to give belt bags (often known in the US by their more pedestrian name: fanny packs) their day in the sun, usually to limited-at-best success. These pushes usually coincide with a general trend toward 70s neo-bohemian fashion, and since that’s what we’re in the middle of right now, there are suddenly a lot of belt bags available.

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of getting a sneak peek at the Mark Cross Resort 2016 collection, and today, we have some photos of the lovely bags to brighten up your Monday. You can expect a lot of the brand’s classic shapes, rendered in new shades and exotics, plus new versions of the popular Grace Box Bag.

It’s time once again to share our gleanings from the week on the PurseForum. We love to wander the halls of fashion’s liveliest destination to bring you reveals and conversations each week. First we made a quick stop in Hermès, and then off to The Wardrobe and Rebecca Minkoff, plus plenty more.

That doesn’t mean there’s no worthy bag deals out there, though; it just means you have to put in a little more elbow grease than you would in June. That’s why we’re here, of course: to get you pointed in the right direction with 15 beautiful sale bags that you need to check out before they’re gone.

If there’s something Dolce & Gabbana loves reliably, it’s a literal fashion homage to something overtly Italian, and for Fall 2015, the duo’s chosen target is the traditional Italian mother. Not only did they have pregnant models walk the runway in several looks, but they’ve emblazoned a series of bags with mom cartoons, some of them rendered in sequins and embroidery.
