For Michael Kors Spring 2012, “safari chic” is only the beginning

Anyone who read our covering of Michael Kors’ Spring 2012 show should be surprised at how the accessories are shaping up – earthy, simple and inspired by seemingly every nature-loving culture in the world. As with any bold aesthetic, some looks (any of the python) are better than the others (furry mohawk bag, anyone?), but they all paint a very vivid picture of how Kors is feeling for spring.

Surprisingly (to me as much as to anyone), I think I like the tie-dyed bag the most. I could see it looking just as chic with a ratty old pair of shorts and a slouchy tank is it would with a white linen sun dress, and that kind of versatility isn’t something you often find in a patterned bag. Surprising myself, I like the furry mohawk one best! Is the tie-dye one cloth or suede or..? Hard to tell in the pic. I also kind of like the Fauxtega Veneta one.

I think they’re all winners. But if I had to pick one it would be the furry…love it!

I like #4. Such as simple, understated clutch.

#9 is, as lintmag put it, a Fauxtega Veneta. If I saw it on it’s own, I would definitely assume it was a BV.

I love the sprinkbok bag, #2, and #8. There’s not much that I don’t like about Michael Kors. I own more of his bags than I care to admit.

#s 1, 4, and 8 appeal to me most. Kors is very versatile.

Wow, I am really surprised but these bags are wrong on many, many level. MK usually has one great bag a season, but I don’t see it here…

Interesting selection of handbags – most would be ‘urban’ safari chic; the two longer ones could be used on Safari but 7 & 8 would be my most likely choice ….
