With a new week starting, that means a new Man Bag Monday feature on PurseBlog. If you keep up with our site, you know how much we love the craftsmanship that Bottega Veneta offers its customers and you also know that every Monday we will be sure to highlight some of our favorite man bags. Combine the two and it is only fitting that we bring you a Bottega men’s bag today.
I have always loved the men’s selection from BV, so much so that I would carry many of the items. The thing is, they are masculine but not overly so. Let’s just get it out in the open and admit it now – many have a negative connotation when it comes to men carrying bags. However, Bottega Veneta designs an array of items for men that I think many men would not be opposed to carrying.
Right now I am loving the colorful Bottega Veneta Lagoon Empire Nero Vintage Calf Flag Tote. There is an open tote version and a zip top version. I personally prefer the zip top version. When we see men carrying work bags or everyday bags, many times the colors tend to stick to black and brown but I adore the option of the green and blue leather. Neither is annoyingly colorful but both are strong and bold.
The overall appearance of the bag has a vintage touch by the top layer color that is added. After that coat is added, it is wiped of, which accentuates the pebble grain texture. For spring 2011, either of these two versions of the bag are truly great options for a man that isn’t afraid of some color. Buy the open top tote for $2,280 and the zip-top tote for $2,850 via Bottega Veneta online.
