Fendi Rose Zucca Chef Bag

Fendi Rose Zucca Chef Bag

Is it just me, or does the Fendi Rose Zucca Chef Bag look like it really wishes it was born a Louis Vuitton instead?

When you’re dealing with a design element as obvious as graphic roses layered over logo canvas, it’s hard not to draw parallels between this and the Stephen Sprouse collection that garnered so much attention last season for Vuitton. I wonder if Fendi’s accessories designers would even be able to keep a straight face while they were claiming that this isn’t a ripoff.

And it’s not even a halfway attractive ripoff. The Vuitton bags were successful because not only did they feature the art of a widely respected pop artist, but they were also visually quite interesting. The roses were robust and colorful, and they overshadowed the traditional monogram on which they sat.

The Fendi, on the other hand, is just kind of sad. The roses are boring and small, and they do nothing to spruce up the zucca print fabric that we’re all used to seeing. Find your own gimmick, Fendi – Vuitton’s already got this one on lock. Buy through Nordstrom for $940.

    Ugh, not good.

The roses look dead, and I completely agree with you.

Here’s hoping their future bags will be as good as their shoes! ;-)

It looks like a carpet bag but not in a good way. I see now that these will probably be on sale before we know it.

I thought the same exact thing when I first saw the picture. I am begining to become disenchanted with the handbag world lately and my spending is reflecting this. Ho-hum.

They took a decent bag and made it look like it was born in 1929.

Wow that is ugly! Way too busy with the logo and the roses. The roses should have been larger to give the bag more dimension. Fendi should stop selling this bag, and buy back the bags from all the stores with apology.

Poor thing’s having an identity crisis. Playing dress-up doesn’t make it as cool as the bag its trying to emulate.

For those who like it, google the LV Stephen Sprouse 2001 line of bags and see why this doesn’t work as well as the origional LV bag that they are trying to replicate.

I forgot to mention that the roses appear to be a different material and this bag definitely looks better in person than in the picture.

Is it because that Fendi is a subsidiary of LVMH? That’s why the bag is LV-inspired? Haha. And the bag looks old…I never liked Fendi’s Zucca prints but LOVE the Peek-a-boo!!!

It looks cheap, easily can found this kind of design at market and bazaar, to come out with this kind of motif doesnt need outstanding designer. Most of FENDI handbags is over design and crowded, Less is More. Exclusive is always related to little things/details that catch the eyes.
And FENDI never have those elements.

I have the exact same bag (no roses)… I prefer a simplier look, but i sort of like the geometric roses on it…it goes with Fendi’s edgy style ;)

Oh, that’s dreadful…if I saw someone carrying it I’d think it was a fake, and a super bad fake at that. Roses do absolutely nothing for Zucca fabric. They actually detract from it; it looks muddled, with too much going on. I was never one to have flowers on my bags, but this is one of the worst looking floral bags I’ve seen in a while. Wow; if Fendi’s goal was to create a bag that looks ugly AND matronly, they certainly accomplished both.
