Project Runway: It’s BA-ACK

Apr 2, 2009 / Posted in Fashion by Amanda Mull.

Project Runway - It's Returning!!!You guys!!! Great news!!! Our beloved Project Runway is going to return to television after all! According to Women’s Wear Daily (I actually read about this on their Twitter feed, so yes, you can learn things from Twitter after all!), NBC Universal (who owns Bravo) and the Weinstein Co., who produce the show, have settled their forever-long lawsuit over the fate of the show.

What does this mean? It means that Project Runway can return to the airwaves, which is great. But it also means that it’s returning to the airwaves on Lifetime, which is less great. At least to me – Lifetime’s programming tends to be less edgy and hip than that of Bravo, so I hope that PR doesn’t lose any of it’s cool, insider-y appeal. I’ve heard rumors that PR will eventually be moved to Los Angeles under Lifetime’s control, and if that’s true, then this is a sad day instead of a happy one. For now, I’m just glad that it will be resurfacing at all. There’s no premier date for season 6, but we know that the season has already been shot and the designers have already shown at Fashion Week, so I’m hoping they won’t delay it for too long.

Since they’ve already shot it we can hope for at least one more good season. That’s great!

I love this show! They probably won’t lose their cool feel, but they may lose viewers with the different channel to look for it on! I catch myself on the Bravo channel and not so much the lifetime channel… thank you twitter for the 411 haha!

unfortunately I won’t be watching it. I only watch Lifetime during the weekdays to catch my favorite comedy sitcoms, but I’ll forget about PR is on Lifetime and will miss out on it. Which is too bad, because I like this show and I LOVE Tim Gunn.

I was upset that this show was moved to Lifetime, and now those idiots at Bravo are making a ripoff of PR called…. Fashion Show or something? But it looks totally similar to PR. I’m going to miss this show.

But on the bright side, I’m glad that PR is still running. Though, I wish it would return to Bravo instead. Oh well.

Sad that it’s not on Bravo, but YAY more Tim Gunn. And thank goodness for Tivo – it will find it for me, even if it is on the Sobtime network.

I read in my local newspaper that Lifetime wants to start airing Season 6 sometime in late summer. I don’t want to wait that long!!

Yeaaaaahh baby PR is coming back finally!! I read on Perez Hilton a few days ago that it’s returning some time this Summer too! I hope the Lifetime Network will take really good care of this show because they are getting a REAL DIAMOND since this show is already sooo established!! :)

Also, I heard about the show being taped in Cali & I am EXCITED about that since I live in So. Cali! I think it will freshen up the show a little bit to see what the designers can do here on the West Coast! The Mood fabric store is already opened in LA too. I think the season that’s been taped already may have been done in Cali as well.

I’m glad its back, but I agree it won’t have the edge on Lifetime as it did on Bravo. Bravo is too good!
