Less than two hours ago, we left Coach on Bleecker Street in New York City’s West Village. Fresh off the press (or rather: digital camera), we present to you a detailed preview of Coach’s 2011 Fall Collection of bags and accessories. We saw a lot of structure, less slouch, less oversized, more ladylike, and new hardware incorporated on familiar and loved silhouettes. Fall emphasizes strongly on the new Chelsea collection.

Below are a few of PurseBlog’s favorites, do not miss the official discussion thread over at the PurseForum for the full preview of 100+ images.

I have always loved the Chelsea collections. I love that the Coach bags do not look like Coach bags. More grown up

  • Nessa

I heart heart heart that blue sequin bag in the second picture… o soo gorgeousss

  • Christine Roeske

    OMG, loving this collection!

  • KeelaMarie

Bag #4 is my FAV (cream, Birkin look-a-like w/two front pockets, top handles, & chain shoulder strap)! Can we get the names of each of these bags so I can prep for purchase once available… ? Please and thank you! ;-)

  • Angie

Never been a Coach fan but these look great. Not your typical Coach bag.

  • christine

Not a big fan but I must say they’re getting better in the design department. Also, I’ve been wondering what kind of camera you all are using for the photos? They’re always so beautiful :)

  • delaney

love the cream bag in the 5th photo!

  • suz

These bags are really wonderful. I loved Coach back in the days of classic before they veered off toward the dark side with gimmicky, trendy…dare I say…cheezy and/or ugly styles that I can only surmise were an attempt appeal to the discount mall crowd. I’m so delighted to see them back on track.

  • joanie

the navy ones are so beautiful

  • DB

wow i can’t believe some of these actually look good! especially that lil one in #7… and #12!

  • KaylaNiche

    These are GORGEOUS! LoveLoveLove!!

  • 19yearslater

Ohh, love number three. Patent is my favorite and that shape is nice.

  • Stacy

wow. I haven’t liked Coach for quite awhil but these are a big improvement! I really like # 11’s shape, color and harware (just not the buckle detailing or the front flap…is this a top opening bag or do you raise the flap to get inside the bag?) I love everything about #15.

  • Julie

I love Coach bags, but I’m actually not a fan of most of these at first look. Number 5 is okay, but that’s the only one that I would consider carrying. Perhaps I’ll change my mind when I see the different bags in various colors.

  • Lulu

I love that Coach has stepped it up and is doing more lady-like bags rather than their past bags with their logo splattered all over it, or “trendy” bags.

  • Kathleen

Glad to see a bit more grown up bags!

  • An

I’m glad they’re more grown-up, but at the same time many made me think of other brands, drawing my attention away from “Coach”

  • adrienne z

wish i had a couple of these

  • gpc

Some of these actually look quite nice in the pictures, but why is it that every time I want to give one a try and walk into a Coach boutique to see IRL, they disappoint. They just appear cheap and over accessorized. I may be wrong, but aren’t Coach bags made in China? If that is the case, no thank you. I can get much better quality and craftsmanship for the same price made in the U.S., U.K. or Italy, to just name a few…

    • Amy

I actually thought about buying a white Coach from their spring collection this year and had the same experience when visiting the boutique. The photos are great but IRL there’s something that’s just no longer appealing to me (my first *designer* bag was Coach). And nobody carries their higher-end bags in my area but that’s okay because if I’m going to spend $700 on a bag I start thinking I should just save a bit more and buy something a little more upmarket.

Hey, just thought I’d share that Coach owns their own factories in Asia. This is different than companies like GAP because they have an HR team present at all times, and don’t rely on other companies to ensure that the world wide standards for wages and working conditions are upheld. You can read more about it on Coach.com, but I found this out on a recent visit to a Coach store.

  • Diane

Some Old Style Coach making a return!

  • Mishiem

Very cute collection. I thought I would buy something from the Spring collection but the leather looked a bit cheap in person.

  • lchua

Mature collection from Coach. Loving the booties more than the bags…

  • ninjaninja

11 is very cute, and I love the color too

  • MsLabelsofLust

    1 2 4 10 12 13 14 are TDF…

  • Vicky

I find the same thing about Coach bags presenting so beautifully in pics, then disappointing IRL. The older bags are still top notch but none of the new ones really grab me enough to make me buy.

  • Rashida

OMG love #4 but #14 on the left! Gotta have it!!!!!!!! Coach has stepped their game up!

  • Lala

I love bag number 4. I think it will wear well and it has the look of a birkin bag. I think that the boots are great also. Way to go Coach

  • Chels K

Grown up bags are right. Several are lovely and understated. Best of all they’re within my price range. Perfect work bags for those of us not in law, advertising or haute coutoure.

  • Binkysmom

So much better than some of their recent stuff. I’d have to see it in person to see what the leather feels like. But some very nice, classic looking bags.

  • jennifer

I’m carrying a classic Coach Court bag from the mid-90s. Love the lady-like classics. Glad to see a return something resembling the Coach of old & not their other ‘stuff’.

    • BunnyMasseuse

It’s my understanding there will be some TRUE classics coming back for the 70th anniversary which will be not just “inspired” by the past but TRULY the bags we bought years ago but offered in different colors/materials. Can’t wait.

  • mochababe73

    I love bags #4 and 9.
It looks like Coach is trying to go back to what made them their money. Classic shapes and silhouettes with sumptious leather.

  • joan G

I only own one Coach bag often think they are too stuff but these are just works of art!

  • txazdreamgirl

I wish Coach was like Build A Bear so I could take each element that I like and assemble the perfect Coach bag for me which would include their richest plain black leather, the original horse and carriage logo, a leather and chain shoulder strap with a minimum 9 inch drop and no other carrying straps of any sort, an east/west shape, similar to large Madison or Maggie, metal feet, minimum 15 inches wide with smooth outside pockets and a magnetic closure, no center zippers, and no locks or other clangy metal anywhere.

  • Cathy Fitz

Wow. I’m really liking several of these bags. I haven’t felt like this about a Coach collection in a long time. Off to check out the thread!!

  • Cris

Love 1, 10, 16 and 17! Even if I am an LV die hard fan, but one of them will be on my fall list

  • Demi

    I love numbers 11, 12 and 15!!!

  • Daelily

This is Coach that I fell in love with. Glad to see the sturdy, quality, ladylike touches returned. These bags have substance not just glam.

  • king

Nice boots. In the past I would have purchased some Coach footwear, but they were always emblazoned with “Coach” and turned me off. I hope these don’t say “Coach”.
A clerk in a Coach store said many of their bags are made in China.
I agree with the comment that for the money, I’d feel better about saving a little bit more and then purchasing a bag NOT made in China. I feel that way about nearly everything in my house. I’ve had enough of the lead paint and poisoned milk stories. It’s not as though Coach prices are under $100.

    I love 5, and 10 intrigues me.

Coach is giving 30% off any store purchase…here is the link

    • Amanda

The only offers you will receive will come straight from Coach.com. I hate to tell you, but this offer is fake, and will not work on Coach.com or in a regular or factory Coach store. You can get great offers though by leaving your info in store or online the more you buy. I get preferred customer event coupons because I left my email after each purchase I made.

  • Jono4

Coach fan since early years of college (when I could afford it because my parents were not spending the money) and have been in love ever since. Love the multi colored one in the first pic, the clutch (& I am not a clutch kind if girl) and the ergoesque bag. I think it’s the 13th pic. Can’t wait. Did you see new jewelry as well?

  • alice

I love Coach Bag and these are just too cute! In Australia there is only one Coach store and it has a very limited range so I have started my own business importing my favourite styles. So, if you want to have a look I would love some feedback. From now on, you would get a piece of Swarovski suit ring or necklace or earrings for free if you buy Coach bag on our website. The site is coach-malls.com. Thanks!

  • Charlotte

Coach has always made beautiful bags, in my opinion. There are some that aren’t to my style, but I can always find a handful to love each season! They have amazing footwear as well! I love the green embossed crocodile bag in these photos!

On a side note, ALL of the leather used comes from the U.S. (and a minor amount from europe) and is tanned and dyed in the U.S. It is only hand-stitched in Asian countries, because, in all reality, that is where people are willing to do that kind of work.

  • Joan

is the green one ostrich leather?? :O

  • Tammy

Love the fifth one down…the creamy white leather! oh my word! drooool

  • Terri Roberts

All these New Fall Bags make me very happy. This is my favorite Season when Coach puts out their Beautiful Fall Line. The HardWare is Certainly one thing that absolutely makes me excited to see the Fall line.
