Looking to Consign? Christie’s Opens Its Doors to North American Clients

If you’re an American handbag aficionado with either a desire to add to your collection or a need to clean out your closet (or both), we’ve got some great news to share. Legendary auction house Christie’s has expanded its Handbags & Accessories Division to North America, with a headquarters in the company’s Rockefeller Center offices in New York City. Previously, all accessories business was centered in Christie’s London offices, so this expansion provides unprecedented access for American clients.

Christie’s Handbag Specialists Caitlin Donovan and Rachel Koffsky will head up the division, which will source its pieces from North American collectors and have an emphasis on designers like Hermès, Chanel, Céline and Louis Vuitton. The duo is currently accepting consignments for the inaugural New York Handbags & Accessories Auction, to be held in December, with client appointments available both in Christie’s NYC offices and September valuation dates in the company’s Los Angeles, Chicago and South Florida locations. If you have a valuable piece burning a proverbial hole in your pocket, now would be an excellent time to explore its value.

If you’d like to schedule a complimentary valuation appointment for your piece or collection, all the information on doing so is available via Christie’s.
