Gisele Bundchen was recently spotted leaving lunch at Nello in NYC to embark on a little shopping spree. She’s carrying an Alexander Wang Diego Leopard Bucket Bag, which was produced several years ago and is completely sold out. Gisele is a friend of the brand and has walked in Wang’s runway shows before (despite the fact that she rarely deigns to walk during NYFW), so it makes sense that she managed to get her hands on one.
This is a trunkshow that needs little introduction. We’re huge fans of both Moda Operandi and Heritage Auctions, and when they team up, they give online customers unprecedented access to the rarest, most luxurious bags in the world. From now until April 28, you can shop a lust-worthy selection of vintage and pre-owned Hermes bags in both exotics and standard leathers, plus a few leather accessories and silk scarves.
Coachella is a unique event. Not only is it the only rich-hippie desert concert weekend that I know of, but it’s a rare opportunity to spot celebrities mingling among mere mortals with relatively little security or separation. That also means it’s an opportunity for handbag-spotting, and although some celebs opt to leave their expensive accessories at home, plenty of others carry whatever handbags they’d use to go out to dinner back in Beverly Hills.

Kendall Jenner was recently seen leaving a salon in LA (wearing a baseball cap after a hair appointment?) carrying a Balenciaga Giant Covered City Bag. This bag is at least a couple years old and is no longer manufactured by the brand – it seems highly likely that Kendall borrowed it from a big sis. The closest thing currently made by Balenciaga is the Balenciaga Giant 12 Gold City Bag, sold for $1,895 at Balenciaga.
One of my favorite aspects of PurseBlog is the comments readers leave for us. It doesn’t mean I always agree, but I love to hear what people have to say about handbags, and many of our commenters are quite thought-provoking. One subject that tends to come up on different posts, time and time again, is brands that people say they would never carry for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it’s about the price, where the bags are made, the people who typically carry the bags – the list goes on. Read More…
New York got its first real taste of spring weather over the weekend, and while the city basket in warmth, you could almost hear the rustle of tulle liberated from closets and the clack of pearls pulled out of jewelry boxes. Wedding season: it’s here.
Weddings bring up a whole host of dressing quandaries for everyone from brides to plus-ones, and although we can’t solve all of them for you, we can tell you what you should be carrying alongside your gown, bridesmaid frock or sundress. From the sweetly traditional to the aggressively literal, check out the year’s best wedding bags below.
We’ve talked previously about menswear’s recent, vibrant facelift, especially when it comes to the accessory market’s various printed and patterned bags. Designers have gone beyond the traditional stripes and plaids that are often associated with menswear, and these new choices indicate an edgier and more androgynous approach. To continue with this list, we have the signature Givenchy rose camouflage print in the form of a simple nylon backpack.
