I’m always thrilled when a brand has stepped up its handbag game, and that’s why I’ve been keeping an eye on Bally since I saw the brand’s Fall 2015 lookbook months ago. The Swiss leather goods company has been around since 1851, and the addition of Pablo Coppola as design director in 2014 has made the line’s bags feel incredibly fresh.
Hermès‘ marquee handbag design has been named after French actress Jane Birkin since its creation in 1984, but as of this week, Birkin would like that to change for at least some of the iconic Birkin Bags. The actress is unhappy with Hermès’ slaughter practices for crocodiles after being alerted by PETA, according to Agence France-Presse.

Celebrities stepped out with both croc bags and Birkins, as well as gorgeous bags from brands like Chloé, Givenchy and up-and-coming bag brand Dannijo.
Manolo Blahnik has always been a man who does things at his own pace. While almost all designers hopped on the platform bandwagon in the mid-2000s, Blahnik was steadfast, sticking with the single-sole shoes he’s made for decades. Now that the shoe trend pendulum has firmly swung in his direction, the designer has set his sights on a bag line for the first time.

Like all of the highest of hig-end handbag brands, Givenchy has a few signature styles that they can comfortably rely on to generate profits and perpetuate their brand’s legacy (though one of those styles just underwent a moderate revamp). Regular celeb endorsement is a crucial part of that business model, and Givenchy has absolutely no problems in that department.
