Last week, we had quite a discussion over the lack of great American luxury handbag designers right now. I’ve heard many of you say you want to see more diversity in the brands we feature, so I’ve been spending time looking for bags and brands that I love that are a bit different from our usual suspects.
Being able to browse stores near and far is one of the greatest advantages of online shopping, and farfetch.com takes things one step further by letting you order from luxury boutiques worldwide that might not otherwise have e-commerce capabilities. That means huge selections and lots of brands and colors, so if you’re looking for something not carried in your area (or in your country), you’re in luck. Through March 5, you’re in even more luck: farfetch.com is offering free global shipping on full-price orders over $160, no code required.
This is not one of those celeb bag roundups where everyone looks totally relatable and down-to-earth, and half the celebs we feature are just grabbing some fro-yo in West Hollywood. This is one of those celeb bag round-ups where (almost) everyone brought their A-game, right along with their A-game handbags.
Price increases for the big brands all seem to be hitting around the same time this year, and that is not good for anyone in the market for a new bag. First we told you Hermès was upping its already steep prices in the beginning of the year, next came the rumors of the Louis Vuitton price increase, and now it’s Chanel.
Another fashion week has come and gone (this time, Milan Fashion Week), and all that’s left are the great bags to look forward to and the street style shots of the fashion insiders and celebs who attended. We’ll have more on Milan’s most notable runway bags tomorrow, but right now, we wanted to take a look at the best things we saw outside.
Bag: Milly Splatter Paint Satchel
Price: $395 via Bloomingdale’s
Why It’s the Bag of the Week: Novelty bags are a huge trend right now, but unfortunately, almost all of the really great ones are made by brands that charge four figures for everything they do.
If you didn’t get a chance to check out the best shoe deals from this past weekend, there’s still time to score some amazing deals. Since we are on the topic of great savings, we also rounded up the best floral shoes for spring under $500. If you’re a supermodel promoting the Victoria Secret Swim Special, a pair of Sophia Webster Lilico Flower Sandals is the perfect finishing touch! Last but not least, check out the five TalkShoes posts that our readers loved most in February.
Over the weekend, there was quite the rainstorm as I headed out for a pedicure. I snatched up my Givenchy Antigona, as that was the bag I’ve been using the previous few days, and quickly headed into the car. I had to park about 50 feet from the nail salon, so I needed to make a run for it in the rain with my bag.
If you’re thinking about an exceptionally bold coat for Fall 2015, you’re going to love this Fendi collection. If you’re looking for a fabulous new bag, you might also like it, but for the first time in a spectacular several-season accessories run for the brand, it felt like the collection’s focus was elsewhere and we have a moment to catch our collective breath (and save up some money for the Fendi bags we’ve been eyeing).
