Here’s Rihanna, keeping her gorgeous, ruby red Celine Rolled Trio Clutch close in NYC. (She’s carrying it unrolled here.) This bag is from Celine’s Summer 2013 collection, which you can see in its entirety in “The Bags of Celine Summer 2013″. I love Celine’s unique “Trio” bags, like Ri Ri’s rolled version, and the regular Trio, which we’ve recently seen on the arm of Kourtney Kardashian and Dakota Fanning.
Although I own hundreds of bags, I find myself hunting through my collection to find a bag that I love and will end up carrying for weeks at a time. Sometimes I change out my bags often, but when I find a great bag, I tend to stick with it. A few weeks ago, I started carrying my Salvatore Ferragamo Small Tote in Raffia and Python and since I first picked it up, I haven’t put it down.
As much as fashion brands love to make a spectacle of themselves, no one does it quite as well (or as thoroughly, or as regularly) as Chanel. When Karl Lagerfeld decides on a theme, he goes for it whole-heartedly. For Chanel Cruise 2014, though, his theme seemed simply to be “Chanel.” The show, held in Singapore, bore occasional details that referenced the Asian location – a few cricket bats, tweeds developed to be comfortable in hot climates – but the things that popped most were the Chanel classics, especially when it came to the beautiful handbags. Last week, we spoke a little bit about the optimal times for men to be wearing backpacks (not with suits!) and which ones you or your dude might want to pick up if being a cool kid matters. (Be honest, it does.) This week, we’ve located another backpack for cool kids (from SSENSE, the ultimate retailer of such things): the Neil Barrett Copper Iridescent Brasilia Backpack.
Angela Simmons, daughter of Rev Run from Run DMC, was recently spotted carrying a hot red Hermes Constance Bag on her way in to the nail salon in LA. We saw Angela with this same bag at New York Fashion Week earlier this year – it’s always nice to see celebs getting some mileage out of their most covetable high-end bags.
We’re one week closer to the arrival of summer and mere days away from the three-day weekend that unofficially begins the beach season, and it seems like it was just yesterday that we were all complaining about the cold and its refusal to leave. (Ok, it sort of was yesterday – it got downright chilly in New York at the beginning of the week.) To console yourself for the fact that it’s not quite Memorial Day yet (but so, so close), we’ve taken done our usual Friday thing – scoured the Internet for bags that are on sale and begging to be purchased. Check ‘em out below, but only when your boss isn’t standing behind you. Read More…
In the next few months you will be seeing a lot more shoe love from our team; we continue to share our footwear obsessions at TalkShoes, because what handbag lover doesn’t love shoes as well? (And vice versa, of course.) One of my favorite shoe brands is Salvatore Ferragamo – the brand’s shoes are legitimately comfortable, which can be a tough feat to accomplish when it comes to women’s shoes.
