It is that time, the time for bright and cheery Bottega Veneta Spring 2010 colors. One of my favorites is orchid, which I am fairly certain is being used on this bag (though it is labeled as grape). And the bag this color is being splashed over is the Montaigne, a popular duffel shape bag from the house.
Liking this bag comes down to whether you like the duffel shape or not. Bottega Veneta is known to produce classic simple designs that stay relevant and elegant at the same time. This design falls into that category. (more…)
You might want to sit down, if you aren’t already. At first, I was really excited to see the Bottega Veneta Leather Fringe Shoulder Bag. But then, I saw it and I became extremely conflicted. As I’ve mentioned several times before, I am totally in love with the leather Bottega Veneta uses on its handbags. It is always supple, always gorgeous and always bumps up the bag design to the next level.
That lovely leather is can be seen on this bag as well. However, I am a bit concerned that it looks, hmmm, a bit unfinished. Yet, as soon as I type those words I go to the complete opposite end of the spectrum and begin to think that this pattern is an eccentric and unique play on the intrecciato weaving and slight fringe. (more…)
We talk a lot about Bottega Veneta, and for good reason. They’re doing some of the most interesting things with some of the best materials on the marketplace, and their bags often have an element of visual trickery with them that I find delightful. If a designer can find a way to make a bag more than the sum of its parts, then he or she has done her job.
The fine folks at BV do their jobs very, very well. Their bags may not fit your personal style (they often don’t fit mine), but it’s hard to argue that they’re not at least producing some of the more interesting products on the high-end marketplace. The Bottega Veneta Oversized Intrecciato Shopper for example, features a weave within a weave that still has me trying to figure out exactly how the designers pulled it off. (more…)
We’ve been lucky enough to get our hands on some of the most beautiful Bottega Veneta handbags available. While I can’t get enough of the signature BV intrecciato woven leather design, I am always intrigued by some of the other intrecciato-less handbags available. Case in point, this luxurious Bottega Veneta Woven Shoulder Bag. I am absolutely in love with how buttery smooth this leather looks. Being part of the resort collection, this is one bag that will completely live up to its price tag. (more…)
“ On the twelfth day of Bottega Veneta we have our best photos and bags yet, a duo of Croc bags, the finest we have ever met!“
How can I begin to describe our final day of Bottega Veneta without typing in all caps followed by an absurd number of exclamation points? It is nearly impossible. I want to stand on top of my couch with my lap top in my hands and scream my excitement over these two bags and the photos Vlad took.
To answer one of your first questions, yes that is a live alligator in our photos. To be precise, he is a four year old alligator named Wally who lives at Everglades Holiday Park in Florida. Next answer is also yes, that is two exotic Crocodile BV bags that Wally is posing with. So let’s get to it! (more…)
♪ On the eleventh day of Bottega Veneta the classic Cabat shines, in red and black brushed calf leather I want it to be mine! ♪
Our fabulous Twelve Days of Bottega Veneta are nearing an end. We could not bring you twelve days without a Bottega Veneta Cabat. An entirely simple design, the Cabat has garnered a cult-like following. Each season new Cabats are released, along with ultra-desirable Limited Editions. (more…)
♪ On the tenth day of Bottega Veneta why not travel in style, with the chicest luggage to be found in the air above 8 miles! ♪
Before you even stare at the screen and try to shake the computer, let me preface this post by saying I know.
Luxurious travel luggage generally does not make any sense. Flying commercial, whether first class or coach, your baggage that is checked under is treated just about as gently as Mike Tyson handling his opponents in the boxing ring. (more…)
When I first saw the Bottega Veneta Karung Nappa Umbria Shopper on the runway, I fell in love. This shopper consists of a nappa leather body with triangles of intrecciato leather and intrecciato karung. (more…)
♪On the eighth day of Bottega Veneta we have a great gift, this simple woven bag in many colors that will give your wardrobe a lift! ♪
The Aquatre Bag from Bottega Veneta is already proving to be a big hit. The reason behind this bag being a success is rather simple. The bag is inherently plain while staying true to its Bottega Veneta roots. The Bottega Veneta Aquatre Bags feature Intrecciato Nappa leather in a variety of cruise collection colors.
There are two versions of the bag, one with a longer shoulder strap and one with double top handles. Our vote goes to the longer strap, which makes this an accessible messenger bag. Let’s go over the pros and cons.
“On the seventh day of Bottega Veneta neon colors shine bright, in the classic Knot clutch it’s a sheer delight!”
From the moment I laid eyes on the vibrant Bottega Veneta Knot in neon lizard skin, I was hooked. The pairing of neon pink, orange, and yellow lizard skin with oxidized silver hardware results in a scintillating optical feat. This Bottega Veneta Knot Clutch screams out FUN, offering the much needed pop of color that our little black dresses or jeans and plain tops desire. (more…)
♪On the sixth day of Bottega Veneta dive under the sea, with the color of this Intrecciato tote named Anemone! ♪
Is the color of this supple leather bag blue or purple? The color is officially deemed Anemone, which is the genus name of 120 species of flowering plants. The name may be more familiar with the word sea placed before it, which instantly leads me to think of Finding Nemo. Anyway, back to the bag…
The Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Nappa Tote is a small bucket bag with two tubular handles and strips of black Intrecciato leather atop the supple Nappa leather. A simple shape is dressed up with the combination of smooth with woven leather and hidden wire piping to help keep the shape of the bag. The inside of the tote features a zip pocket, cell phone compartment, and suede lining. Keep in mind the dimensions are not overly spacious, measuring 12.1 X 9.4 X 4.3 IN. Buy through Bottega Veneta for $1850.
The Bottega Veneta San Marco bag was one of my personal favorites from the fall line. This bag is a piece of intricate craftsmanship, showcasing every bit of design ingenuity that Bottega Veneta offers. Individual straps of leather are bonded to Karung and twisted which gives us this effect. The shape and overall style of this bag lends it being more of a classic. (more…)
