Day 11: Bottega Veneta Brushed Calf Cabat

by Megs Mahoney Dusil

BV Cabat Detail

On the eleventh day of Bottega Veneta the classic Cabat shines, in red and black brushed calf leather I want it to be mine!

Our fabulous Twelve Days of Bottega Veneta are nearing an end. We could not bring you twelve days without a Bottega Veneta Cabat. An entirely simple design, the Cabat has garnered a cult-like following. Each season new Cabats are released, along with ultra-desirable Limited Editions.

To refresh your memory, the Cabat takes ample time to create as the entire product is made by hand. Weaving the leather takes two days. Another day is used for stitching, applying handles, and finishing the edges. And before this the leather is treated and prepared with the highest standards. There is no lining, no hardware, just leather craftsmanship at its finest.

This time around we got our hands on the Bottega Veneta Fever Nero Brushed Calf Cabat, another limited edition. This bag shows a combination of red and black thick and slightly glossy calf skin. The color is revealed after being hand brushed. As with every Cabat, there is a detachable shiny calf pouch that is lined with velour. This bag is the medium size, measurements being 9.8 by 15.6 by 6.4 inches. There is also a blue and green option. Cost is $5,900 via Bottega Veneta online.

Make sure to log on tomorrow for the ultimate BV bag!

This has “University of Georgia football gameday” written all over it. Red, black, and beeyootiful. Now if only I could get into one of the luxury boxes.
