I follow WeWoreWhat on Instagram, but every time I see this bag, I can’t help but think, “So this is how the leather on Hedi Slimane’s $2,000 accessories-front-runner wears? Pass.”

Atelieross.com

its not for everyone, i believe the intention with designers and the leathers that they select is what does the leather look like with wear, and i know Hedi Slimane’s esthetic is for the products to immediately have a worn in look, have a vintage flair or to wear beautifully. So im sure when they selected the leathers they put it through tests to see how it would wear, patina and burnish. This is even more evident in the fact that the company has continued to use the exact same leathers on the handbags for over a year and a half after the first hedi slimane designed saint laurent dags where spotted on kate moss. Otherwise they would have transitioned to a more grainy leather or something that would be more durable like a vachetta or saffiano, even though they did start to offer a caviar embossed leather on select bags…Also Hedi has been interviewed, stating that his models wear shoes that have already been broken in, on the runway. This Just proves more that his esthetic is more vintage, grungy and a bit worn in 😉

This is really a well thought out response, thanks! The leather def shows wear a bit easier but I do think it’s the entire aesthetic they are going for.

Love her blog. The bag is pretty non-descript, but it fits her minimalist style. Mostly, I like that I can read her handwriting, and I want a pair of those aviators.

Megs Mahoney Dusil

HAHA, yes when she was filling it out I was thinking how much everyone would love that they can read her handwriting!

Melissa

if shes a blogger she probably shouldn’t have spelled stockholm wrong…

Megs Mahoney Dusil

We all rely on spell-check a tad too much! 😉

We will fix that for her!

ellavanw

The problem isn’t the spellcheck failure; it’s that it is really pretentious to say that your style is a mix of New York and Stockholm – and then to spell the latter wrong.

ebelinapap

maybe it was just a mistake because she was in some kind of rush or just abstract. we don’t need to be that judgemental..

These are becoming more like mini Coveteurs or Selbys. Not that I don’t like either of those blogs, but personally, I think it’s more interesting to focus on what’s really in the bag; that’s what I find truly fascinating.

Some people have tons of items in their bags and others don’t have as much. We focus on what’s in their bag and try to show it in an interesting way!

Can you find out what attachments are on her camera, very interested in the lens and hood….
