I ended last week’s work schedule with a few calls with brands based in Paris. I told them that after my call with them, I naturally needed to watch the last drop of Emily in Paris for ‘work purposes.’ I then asked if it was anything like their lives in Paris, and we all shared a great laugh because the show is similar to what Sex and the City was to NYC life: a welcomed escape from reality.
But nothing was going to stop me from using a nice chunk of my day to watch a TV show and call it work, so I got myself a copiously oversized tea and cozied up to watch how the rest of the season would unfold. I already shared all of the bags of the first part of season 4, which varied greatly!
Of course, I had to call this work, so I was there for the bags, but the silly plotline and over-the-top fashion didn’t hurt either. Plus, I wanted to see how many more men would fall in love with Emily in four episodes.

SPOILERS AHEAD!
Season 4 Episode 6
We kick it off with Emily packing to go back home to Chicago. She has difficulty closing her Rimowa suitcase because of all the ugly Christmas sweaters she is packing and gifts she takes home. I like her luggage’s color, even if I didn’t have much luck with my own piece of Rimowa!
Emily then heads to the Air France lounge, courtesy of an upgrade from her boss Sylvie, and we get a really lovely placement of both Air France and the Clarins lounge at CDG airport. It seems over the top but also just right. With this taking place during the winter, Emily leaned into shearling bags, the first of which was the Soeur Belissima Mini Bag in Sable Noisette.
After bad weather in Chicago, Emily joins Cami (who has yet to break the false pregnancy news), her family, and her boyfriend in Megève. She realizes he will keep putting Cami first, and they break up. She heads back to Paris very sad with another shearling bag in tow, the Roger Vivier Jeu de Fille Viv Shearling Strass Buckle Clutch Bag in Suede.
Season 4 Episode 7
Back in Paris and ready to work, Emily heads to the office with the last shearing bag we see, the Delvaux Brilliant Teddy Bag. I love this bag! I prefer using more practical materials but want to see these bags on the show. Known, but not as known, ya know?
A new character comes in to stir the drama: Genevieve, the daughter of Sylvie’s husband, whose name I had forgotten. She has no job and no apartment but soon gets hired by Sylvie. She hits on Emily’s ex-boyfriend, lies to Emily, and plays dress-up with Fendi Baguette bags. I love the Fendi bags, but I hate that side plotline.
Season 4 Episode 8
One aspect of a show like this that makes it so enjoyable is that it is over-the-top—all elements of it. I forgot to mention that Gabriel left Emily on the slopes of Megève to go downhill after Cami, who he still thought was pregnant with their baby. He thought he could protect her by staying close to her, even though his proximity would have no bearing on the health of the baby if Cami were to tumble.
Anyhow, a very attractive Italian found Emily scared and unable to make it down the mountain, and he saved the day and led her down. He is back, only this time in a Polo match, and it turns out he is friends with Emily’s best friend, Mindy’s boyfriend, Nico. Enter Marcello, who soon takes us on an Italian journey.
The Fendi bags in this second half of the show were fun and made sense with the Rome integration. Unexpected bags were also used as chest covers, this time Cambridge Satchel Company bags (what a throwback!) and Self Portrait Micro Embellished Bow Bag, which protected Mindy from having to bare all to raise money to compete in Eurovision.
Again, when you type out the plot of the show, you really do realize this is meant to be an escape!
Season 4 Episode 9
Emily finally discovers that Cami is not pregnant after all, but she does not have time to talk it out with Gabriel; it is time for her to head to Rome to visit Marcello.
The main star of this episode is Emily’s Peter and James Atelier Butterfly Bag, which transforms from a shoulder bag to a butterfly backpack and is shown off as she toured Rome by Vespa while holding onto Marcello. I like this Marcello guy.
Season 4 Episode 10
The final episode brings all the drama.
Emily’s boss comes to try to pitch Marcello and his family business. Marcello gets mad at Emily for using him for work. Mindy visits because she and Nico break up because he doesn’t like her image and because of how it reflects on him as he tries to take over his family business. Sylvie has a Roman lover she spends time with because her husband has been lying to her and staying with Genevieve’s mom when he visits NYC. Gabriel wins a Michelin star, and Genevieve shares this news with him. Emily’s company wins the business of Marcello’s family. Sylvie tells Emily she will head up the new office in Rome. Chef Gabriel leaves to find Emily, but in the end scene, Emily heads out into Rome with Marcello.
There were also a lot of bags in this episode. Saint Laurent, typically a favorite of Sylvie’s character, appeared on Emily. We also see a Micro Dior bag on Emily and a Fauré Le Page bag on her coworker, Julien, which delighted me! Roger Viver also had a few bags in the show, another known brand but not as household in the bag world.
Ultimately, we leave Emily in Rome and will wait for another season to see how her love life and fashion life transpire!
Watched the season and overall it provides light enjoyable distraction. I did find Emily’s white sequin suit coupled with a mini Lady dior (also sequins) a bit ridiculous given they try to portray her as a single, up and coming marketing director. As someone in a similar line of work the salary does not even remotely match the wardrobe. I know, I know, it’s not meant to but the overwhelming amount of designer labels are turn off.
everything here is tacky and overdone.
Sylvie is definitely a YSL woman. It fits her so well. When she walked in Vouge World Paris few months ago in full head-to-toe YSL ,it is a sign for me she matches the YSL house codes. I would love to see her in their future campaign. Go Sylvieeeee
You really did get all the bags! Love how light the show is, it’s a break from real life!
Emily’s sea blue suitcase is the Rimowa Trunk Plus not Check-in L. I know because I want one after seeing it on the show. lol

Great eye, thank you. We’ve updated the link!
What about the goyard (i believe) that Julian is wearing when the come for the Rome meeting?
Not goyard. It’s Fauré Le Page
Yes! It’s FLP, we noted it in the post too!
I kinda thinking that Emily’s outfit kinda like going to fashion week. So extra.
While Sylvie done it well. but again, it’s a series, so maybe it just to pointed out who’s the main character and also, sponsorship. But overall, cute series and love their outfit
Hi was wondering what diamond patterned bag Mindy had in that picture?
What is that lovely diamond pattered bag Mindy has?
