We’re rolling right into mid-July, which means that sale season will soon wind down, and shortly we’ll be inundated by Fall’s new collections. While many parts of the world are experiencing record heat, making it impossible to even dream about shopping for fall, cooler weather and the new beginnings that come with fall are somewhere in the distant future!
While I am most certainly not trying to speed up summer, I am here to remind you that eventually we’ll be trading our iced beverages for hot ones, flip-flops for boots and our raffia and summer bags for jewel tones and soft suedes. This fall, we’ve got our eye on several trends for the cold weather months, like animal skins—both real and faux, hues of soft grey, and more.

While 2026 is set to be a groundbreaking year, with many of the world’s most influential handbag brands welcoming in new designers and new eras, we’ve still got to get through the Fall season before the newness from Chanel, Bottega Veneta, Celine, and more hits stores.
The Fall 2025 brought with it glowing reviews and collections that stunned, especially when it came to the bags. Jonathan Anderson’s final collection for Loewe was presented off the runway, but it wowed, while Alessandro Michele explored intimacy in its many forms at Valentino. Still, few were as beautiful and as jaw-dropping as Fendi Fall 2025, which was the final chapter in this brand’s 100th anniversary celebration.

Not only did the collection welcome the Fendi Spy back to the runway, but in true Fendi form, the runway was full of statement-making bags. From lush textures like fur and shearling to exotic skins like chevron-patterned eel skin and ostrich, Fendi’s runway bags never disappoint, and this collection is the stuff of handbag lovers’ dreams.
The collection clearly celebrated Fendi’s past while looking towards the future, honoring some of the House’s most important codes and DNA. I am most excited to see Fendi’s Runway bags hit stores, as it’s been quite a while since one of its collections has wowed me to this extent.
Because this collection closes out the centennial year, many of these bags are sure to be collector’s items in the future, and it would be so special to own one of these runway bags. Which collection are you most looking forward to seeing in boutiques?
Loewe by Lazaro Hernandez & Jack McCollough.
I’m with you on Fendi. I’m especially besotted with the brown velvet mama baguette.
Not truly anxious, but when we were in the LV store on Blvd Saint Germain last month, I asked the manager when the bags shown in the 2026 cruise lineup would be available. (In a May 27 PB column, Kaitlin described the bags as “dramatically beautiful“) He said probably November, but cautioned that some were created just for the show and won’t be available in stores. I’m crossing my fingers that the gorgeous Almas and the metal effect Speedy make the cut — I’m not normally a Speedy fan, but I really liked that one.
