A handful of years back, I reached a point in my life that genuinely shocked me—I was just not all that excited about bags anymore. Very few new bags enticed me to want to spend my hard-earned money on them, and I was reaching a point of bag fatigue, where the bags I owned were starting to bore me.
Around this time, my style started to shift, and I looked at the bags I owned, what I could sell, and how I shopped. Since then, I can say with the utmost confidence that I shop more mindfully than ever before. In the last few years, I’ve truly honed in on my style and know what works for me.
Truthfully, maybe part of that comes with age, as the 2020s also saw me entering my thirties. I also realized that in order to fall back in love with my closet (and not just my bags), I had to remember why I fell in love with luxury fashion in the first place.
The Art of the Bag Switch-Up
Also, I became insistent on changing my bags more and rewearing my favorite pieces in new and interesting ways. While this means that I often have anywhere from 4 to 6 bags out of their dust bags hanging from doorknobs or hooks around my apartment, I’ve become somewhat of a pro at rotating my bags.
Last summer, I lived for logos, stepping back in time to a teenaged version of myself who first fell in love with bags. This summer, I’ve been switching it up from week to week, but currently, I’m favoring my trusty Prada Cleo (obviously), pops of color, and my favorite statement-maker.
As we near August, we want to know what bags are in your summer rotation? Are you favoring something new, something borrowed, or maybe something blue (sorry, had to)?
This Summer’s Current Favorites

BTW, your Puzzle bag is amazing!
Thank you so much!! I never saw the orange at stores in nyc – I got this in Portugal in 2022. It was between sunny yellow, lilac, and this orange, and I made the right choice for sure.
My 10yo lambskin PS1 medium in grapefruit (orange). Perfect bag for running around with my teens. One of the OG quiet luxury brands… and so many compliments on the color.
I will always adore the PS1!!!such a great, classic bag….
I feel the same – my colorful bags always get attention!
Your rotation is fabulous and reminded me of my lifestyle a while back. Brought a smile to my face:) so thank you for this airy topic. Ah…
Fast forward some years, summer rotation for me now are: LV Graceful PM in Damier Azur (so everyone’s stuff is in one bag, some bags are in the home appliances category! As the child ages, it finally comes down to a more normal size.); LV Troca MM in beige (Day to night thanks to its detachable metal chain) and Goyard Plumet in orange.
Thank you so much! I am enjoying this stage of my life, but welcome the day I have to carry other humans’ belongings 🙂 Orange Goyard is SO good!! I still want a Goyardine document pouch in a fun color.
I wish Loewe Puzzle hobo come back with Lazaro & Jack!!!
I LOVE this bag so much! I always wonder why it didn’t last more than a couple of years.
My current summer bag rotation is Celine Edge!
I use the same bags all year!
There are very few bags I will only use seasonally, but I definitely tend to favor or reach for certain bags during the warmer months!
Loewe pochette crossbody in rattan and leather, Goyard Cap Vert in burgundy and Faure Le Page Daily Battle in grey for daytime, Bottega Veneta Intrecciato Concert Pouch in ecru for going out. Love them all.
I switch my bags every two days, all year round. I choose the bag then build an outfit around it
I love hearing how often people change up their bags. I have some work to do. I change mine monthly. Heavy in my summer rotation is my LV Pm Slouchy. I cannot get enough. By the way, your orange puzzle bag is to die for. Where might someone find that bag pre-loved? I love that it is a shoulder carry.
Bottega mini Marco tote in sky blue, Hermes Picotin in 18cm orange and Loewe Medium Flamenco……
Arco!
A mix of Longchamp 3D large tote in yellow, medium tote in light blue, Anya Hindmarch Smiley crossbody in pink, Goyard St Louis in yellow or orange and a no brand red bucket bag.
I rotate my ~14 bags weekly all year round. Only really switch it up if weather doesn’t agree or I’m sweaty/need my Fanny pack to go to the gym. I get most excited to pull out my BV Wallace, Loewe puzzle, denim LV speedy 25 or my newest addition, Miu Miu Aventure
