What’s Your Go-To Wedding Bag?

Do you have one?

What s your go to Wedding Bag?

We’ve discussed the elusive purse peace repeatedly. I’ve wondered if it’s even possibleConfessors have sworn they’ve found it. As bag lovers, it’s something that’s always in the back of our minds, but what exactly does purse peace mean?

Undeniably, purse peace has different meanings to different people, but recently, I read something where the person explained that purse peace meant having a bag to suit every need. While that’s not exactly how I’d define purse peace, and truthfully, I still don’t know if it’s truly possible, I recently realized that I don’t have a bag to suit every need.

Sharing My Bags Is More Than Just Lending

The warm weather months are upon us, and with that comes wedding season. Thankfully, my friends and family have decided to sit this year out, leaving me with zero formal obligations. Still, I can’t say the same for my friends, who’ve been hitting up my closet to borrow the perfect bag for every occasion.

Sharing Bags
Is sharing caring?

Last week, I sent my stunning Bvlgari Serpenti Forever off to an engagement party while the week before, a couple of my bags jetted off to a bachelorette party. I love sharing my bags with friends, it’s a love language of sorts for me—a way to connect and express my bond with a loved one. My bags are so special to me, and if I’m offering them to you to borrow, it means I love you and hold value (and trust) in our relationship.

The Clutch Conundrum: What’s Missing From My Closet

So when my best friend texted me to ask if I had any gold mini or clutch bags that would be good to wear for a wedding, I felt like I was letting her down when I messaged her back, explaining that my collection is really lacking in wedding or formal bags. I don’t own any true clutch bags anymore—the ones I had were contemporary brands or department store finds that have since gone to Goodwill.

I’ve wanted to purchase an Olympia Le-Tan Book clutch as a collector’s piece, I’ll have forever. As an avid reader and lover of words since I was a child (my dream wedding venue is the New York Public Library), it would not only be a special item to have, but one I would be able to wear to events.

I haven’t had the need to buy it yet or spontaneously found a deal good enough to pull the trigger, but I need to know—what’s your go-to wedding bag?

My go-to wedding bag is my bespoke Primo Atelier clutch in Epsom leather, with a sterling silver, onyx-encrusted panther motif. I also rotate between my Lotus Arts de Vivre and Judith Leiber pieces.
I once attended a friend’s wedding where many of my friends and other guests carried Kelly Minis, most of them in black. Funny enough, at the next wedding, none of them brought their Kelly Minis. They all opted for different bags instead.

What’s up with the passive aggressiveness towards Hermès and you trying to not-so-subtley brag about your “unknown-brand bespoke bag”?? 🤣
I can hardly believe your story, probably because you can’t get a mini Kelly, and you’re jealous of people who do have one! 💅
It’s so obvious darling, you don’t need to scream your insecurities 🤦‍♀️

LizAstor… are you okay??? Do you need a snack?

I was simply answering the question the author asked, sharing what my go-to wedding bag is. There’s absolutely no shade intended toward Hermes. I am a fan and own a Kelly Mini and have just placed a Special Order for another one.

It’s a little puzzling that a polite response about personal taste was met with such hostility. In most circles, certainly in the society I am in, it’s considered rather poor form to assume envy where none exists, especially over something as subjective as a handbag.

Surely we can all agree that style, like weddings, is personal. There are so many wonderful niche brands to explore beyond the usual names.

Kudos to you, Terri. A classy response to a very un-classy and needless attack. As between you and LizAstor, I would peg her as the insecure one.

My grandmother’s beaded bags. They only hold a lipstick, couple of cards, and a small mirror, but I love them. They are about half the size of my phone. Anything else is mostly whatever I find at TJMaxx. I’m not interested in spending a whole lot of many on a clutch.

I purchased a Strathberry Nano Leather Tote for summer outdoor showers, weddings, etc. and a black one for evening events. Have received a TON of compliments on both. Not the same ol’ same ol’.

I worn a Fendi clutch & LV toiletry pouch to weddings before. I guessed it looked kinda boring..

Laura

I bet some folk would have seen your bags and thought definitely NOT boring. 🙂
