While it feels like just yesterday that fashion became enamored, borderline obsessive, and head-over-heels in love with #NewBottega, the brand’s new chapter has been going strong for some time. Arguably one of the most popularized bags from the era of #NewBottega is the Mini Jodie Bag, which again has actually been making the rounds for longer than you might think.
Hitting the handbag scene in January 2020, the Jodie entered the market during a time of major uncertainty, but, despite its inopportune timing, it quickly became one of the most recognizable bags of the decade. Three and a half years later, the Jodie bag’s popularity shows no signs of slowing down.
A Bottega Veneta Jodie for All
Season after season, new iterations of the Jodie Bag are released. From a rainbow of irresistible colors and textures to new sizes, if the shape of the Jodie is one that intrigues you, you can be sure that there is an iteration for you.
Early last year, Bottega Veneta added Teen-sized bags to its line-up, including the Jodie, and for many, it felt like the perfect in-between size. At the time the Teen Jodie was released, I had already added the Mini Jodie to my rotation a few months prior. Already having fallen deeply in love with the Mini Jodie, but admittedly, struck by its small interior, I was slightly bummed by this discovery.
Ironically, I’ve used the Mini Jodie way more than I ever imagined I would in the nearly 2 years since I’ve owned her! It was actually the bag purchase that has surprised me the most, and if you follow me on Instagram, then you’ll see her make appearances on stories and in feed quite often!
Because of how often I use my Jodie, I’ve been considering adding another to my rotation. I’ve been going back and forth between another Mini in a second color or the Teen Jodie, with a stronger lean towards the latter, even though I know the Mini size works for me more than I previously thought it would. I’m still undecided if I should add a larger size or stick with the size I already know I love (and will use).
Not only have I purchased the same bag in different sizes, but I have purchased the same size bag in different colors. When I find something I love that works well for me, I want more than one. This is especially true with my Bottega bags.
Me too! I have the Celine Box / Classic bag in Medium (x2) and the tiny one. I love them all so much
Speedy 25, 30, 35 w/ and w/o strap in various materials and colors ♥️
I have one medium and two small Loewe puzzle bags. I am contemplating getting a mini, but not sure I can justify the price for the size…
Guilty! I have purchased Lady Dior from micro all the way to XL, some in the same color or with different iterations from acrylic handles with flower details, lace, fabric, lamb skin, patent leather.
Absolutely:
Keepall 45, 50, and 55!
I definitely have! It’s hard for me to justify buying the same bag in different colors, but if it’s in a different size then I can convince myself it’s ok 😂 most of the time I would even buy one in silver hardware and the other size in gold hardware.
I’ve bought the same bags in different colors to iterations but not sizes. For example, I bought a Coach Tabby, Soft Tabby, and Pillow Tabby, and they’re all different colors-chalk, teal, and red.
I’ve bought the Boy Bag in the same size but in different colors with different hardware. A couple of years ago, I fell in love with the Fendi Runway and bought a large one and a smaller one but they also are different colors (the smaller one is the monogram and the larger one is not).
I just purchased another Antigona, smaller and multi-color. Two different size Celine luggages, two different color Neverfulls, so I would say the answer is yes
Yes, I’m a freak and I fly the flag proudly!
Jumbo caviar in black (2) -gold hw and silver hw
Toy loulou (2) -green velvet and black calfskin
Mini lou camera (3)- dark beige, pebble, and light beige
Speedy B (2) – Nano mono, Azur 25
Pardon my comment, as mine are different colors not sizes.
I usually buy the same pair of shoe in different colors, so I do the same with bags. But I have never bought the same bag in a different size, mainly because of the style. Bigger bags for work, medium bags for everyday use and little (but not micro) bags for evenings, but they all have different style and material (though I prefer leather bags).
Telfar. Small and Large.
Yes! Celine box in black and brown. Mini Jodie in black and beige. I reallyyyy want the new Taupe Mini Jodie, which would make it three
I would say no but I have 2 Jodie’s – 1 natural and 1 black and diff sizes. I also have 2 Celine belt bags one black and one green
absolutely! when you love a style you just want it in every option (size and color), especially in adorable mini sizes – or am I just crazy?!
Louis Vuitton – speedy 30 and nano speedy
Celine – mini luggage and nano luggage
Chanel (my true love) – jumbo, medium, small, mini
I also have diff colors of the same size (esp. the small and mini)
Yes, I have! Different colors, same style as well as shoes!
I have, Gucci Bamboo 1947, Hermes Jypsiere, Hermes Picotin, and Goyard Saygon.
I collect vintage Coach from the 1980s and 1990s, and yes, I collect the same bag in different colors. I own white, black and brown of the Coach Legacy Willis. They are the perfect medium size for everyday.
Yes!! I have two Chloe Marcie bags. I loved my black one so much that I got a tan one too. I also have the Louis Vuitton Bosphore Pochette in monogram, damier, and grey/black damier.
Hermes kelly in 20 25 28 32
Hermes birkin in 25 and 30
I wanna add a fendi peekaboo yo my collection. Maybe a small. I currently have the mini
Yup!! Have done it multiple times. If you love a bag, why not have different sizes and colours!
I have a Jodie in small when it was first released and I have a larger Jodie purchased this past year in a springtime shade. The smaller bag is used very infrequently and the larger bag is used far more often, say everyday. One bag two purposes.
Only Birkin 30 & 35 or Kelly 25,28
I have not! I usually buy the same size, same brand in the different color! But my dad bought me both the small and large Longchamp LePliage and I have to admit, it’s nice to have variety for different occasions. I think it really comes down to your lifestyle and if you think you’ll get use out of it.
