Since the handbag world has mostly been atwitter (both literally and figuratively) over Proenza Schouler’s new patent leather PS1 satchel for the past week or two, another addition to the line has snuck onto the brand’s site a bit under the radar: the Proenza Schouler PS1 Pouch crossbody bag.

We’ve known that this design’s debut was coming since the brand included it in the Resort 2011 courtesy shots, but now it’s here and available for purchase for $1225. The crossbody comes in two materials and three colors so far: tobacco suede, green leather and smoke leather. I love the green, but I’m going to wait until the rest of Proenza’s resort pieces come out before making any purchasing decisions. I also wouldn’t mind a black-on-black version of this bag, which I expect we’ll see sometime in the future. (Ok, so that might be a bit of magical thinking. Maybe we can all believe it to be the truth and make it happen so that I can buy one. Help me out on this.) Buy through Proenza Schouler for $1225.

  • Miss.Cherie

if they make a pink one I will buy it for sure! Or blue <3

  • Rebecca

I totally love the green one, but gasped at the price. Yikes!

  • Amanda R

I love these bags, but the price is ridiculously high for a crossbody! I was expecting it to be under $1000. :(

  • Lorie

Love these. I’m loving the smoke version.

  • Kimberley

Love smoke, but agreed with the pricing. Should have been $1k, might as well pay a few hundred more for the nicer Medium PS1. Since the pochette is excessive at $900, the pouch should have been just a little over, to sit right in the middle price wise.

Either way, PS are fantastic and I hope they sell a ton. Looking forward to the different colors. Saddle would be lovely for Spring.

    Nothing original, pretty ordinary looking.

  • 19yearslater

These are adorable. Nothing beats the original ps1 though.

  • Toni

These remind me of the Botkier’s mini Sasha Duffle. (although not a crossbody)
    Must be the straps.

For the size of these bags $1000+ is asking too much. The colors are great, and crossbody bags are a signature in my wardrobe, but this? :/

  • Fiona-Brasil

The green is an excellent choice!I saw the three colors at Barney´s LA and went for the smoke because I have another emerald green bag. They are all beautiful , I am very happy with the size not with the price…

  • haya

    i totally love it

  • edoardo

I don’t like the browns models (they looses a lot of their beauty in this smaller version…) but I believe that the green one is the most fascinating PS1 ever producted by Proenza Schouler (a part from the cocodrile PS1)

Not a fan of the crossbody version.

    Ps1 in crossbody is perfect!

I really like this bag and was excited when I first saw the preview pics, but was later disappointed when I saw its price tag. It seems like they priced this bag more according to hype rather than workmanship/materials. It doesn’t make much sense to spend $1200+ on this bag when you can spend $300 more and get the Medium. Price aside, I really do like this style and think it could be a hot seller. It seems like a great size and very practical

I agree. I think that a price of $800-900 is more reasonable considering the price difference. That said, I love the look of these. (ipad)

I have really enjoyed this bag since getting it a few weeks ago at Barneys Scottsdale. Great color and very handy this past Friday in the crazy mall crowds. A young man ( Samuel) got it for me before the store got it in. very helpful, and I must say a handsome look-a-like of a young Patrick Swayze.

Oh what I wouldn’t do to have one of these in my closet right now. It’s PERFECT. Actually, it wouldn’t hurt if it was a teeeeensy bit bigger, but I’m not complaining. It’s honestly stunning, I’m in love. (ipad)
