The Small and Mighty Prada Arqué Bag

The little bag to add to your fall and winter wardrobe.

Prada Arqué Bag White

When it comes to the compact bag movement, Prada leads the charge. With updates and re-editions, the brand brought back the idea of a small yet functional bag that left the hefty and cumbersome massive bag movement behind. This may be my favorite offering however, one that dances the line between being sleek and modern yet timeless and feminine. This is the new Prada Arqué bag, which offers an updated interpretation of key elements from the House of Prada and its storied and recognizable aesthetic.

Freshly released for fall, the Prada Arqué bag is a small but mighty, attention-grabbing design. The first thing you’ll notice is its crescent-like shape, but upon further inspection, you’ll uncover the details and workmanship that went into the creation of this bag.

One of the most notable design elements is the curved body, which is constructed from two pieces of leather shaped with wooden forms. Another really neat and innovative finish is the shoulder strap, which runs the entire length of the curved bottom. This seemingly simple detail feels quite special in person, and these are the types of finishes that translate the creative vision behind a bag. The end result is a geometric balance that is highly alluring.

Usability and Functionality

One of the biggest qualms with smaller bags is the lack of functionality, but this is where the Arqué soars. Versatility comes into play with the style. Its dimensions allow ample room for storage. It easily fits an iPhone Max, along with a small wallet and a handful of other daily necessities. For many, a small bag is out of the picture if it doesn’t carry a phone, but this bag passes the oversized phone test.

Speaking of the shoulder straps, there are multiple options when it comes to carrying this bag. The little hobo features two adjustable and interchangeable handles, allowing the wearer to customize the strap-length and carry it in multiple ways.

The Rest of the Details

The Prada Arqué bag is crafted from soft calf leather and is available in three color options: black, cognac, and white. A bonus colorway, this beautiful taupe hue (called “Travertino”), is an online exclusive and probably my favorite of the bunch (followed by cognac). While the leather is smooth and luxurious, it still holds its shape due to the innovative construction of the bag. On the inside, you will find a single open pocket and nappa leather lining.

As our wardrobes transition to fall and winter, this bag is a seamless staple that can complete any outfit. It can sit under your arm snugly or with a bit of space or become your crossbody daily carry. I find this bag to be the equivalent of the perfect cup of tea in my favorite mug while reading a book in a quintessentially inviting bookstore. No matter how you choose to wear it, the Prada Arqué feels just right.

For these types of features, can we see pictures of how the bag opens, what the inside looks like, the side profile, back profile etc — instead of 10 pictures of the front of the bag leaning against various walls and chairs?

Just bought it in Italy. I was never a fan of Prada bags but this is so gorgeous in person. The leather is luxurious and the lining is leather as well. I thought it might be hard to get into but it isn’t. It has one small inside pocket.

So, it’s a paid editorial?

Indeed, the heading calls out that it’s a collaboration with Prada. This is how we describe paid collaborations with brands.

Polene numero dix but with an awkward crossbody strap and a Prada triangle. Polene did the moon shape much better.

The Prada Arque can absolutely be worn crossbody. It has a shorter shoulder strap and a detachable shoulder strap. I purchased the medium size 6 months ago in black and it is my favorite of my handbag collection. It is a workhorse that I can wear day and night , as a working mom I look for that in all my purchases. Not taking away anything from Polene as I also love their bags but the Arque is just beautiful!

The irony of this model pretending to pick up books in this gorgeous library while carrying this mediocre Prada bag is hilarious.

Sick of their prices and their absolute lack of quality. At least Diors prices come with quality. Plastic coated leather and fabric lining for 4500 is crazy.

I’m sure this bag is no better than what they’ve been offering recently.

Prada s style and value has gone down like so many brands. I still have one of their old school backpack and other nylon bags which lasted for years! Hardly buying prada anymore..rather spend it on collector/limited LV or Chanel or Hermes (yes their prices are crazy too now but at least they retain their value)….

I just ordered this bag thanks to your review. I’ve been eying it and seeing this made me decide to go for it! I was over the reeditions so this seems perfect for a small bag for me!

I like it, but for $2,700 I’m not sure that I would buy it.

Same. I think it is well priced and the leather on this specific Prada is untreated, and supple. I also love the shorter strap and detachable strap so that I can wear crossbody for daily use!

I would never use that additional strap. Just seems weirdly awkward with the pursue loop right below.

Great review, Megs! I’m loving the new Prada Arqué bag. It’s the perfect size for everyday essentials, and the crescent shape is so elegant and unique.
I especially like the fact that the shoulder strap runs the entire length of the curved bottom. This is a really innovative design that adds to the overall look and feel of the bag.
I’m also impressed with the amount of storage that the Arqué bag offers. It’s much roomier than I expected, and it can easily hold all of my essentials, including my iPhone Max, wallet, keys, and makeup.

I just bought a Polene Dix which I believe it was designed before the Prada Arqué.
