The Much-Loved Louis Vuitton Croissant Bag Is Coming Back

Run, don't walk to the resale market!

The Louis Vuitton Croissant MM is Back

Besides the iconic limited-edition Stephen Sprouse Roses collection, the Louis Vuitton Croissant bag is the vintage bag I search for most on the resale market. I’ve seen this bag many times worn IRL, and I remember this bag in its heyday.

While it’s a bag that (one day) I’d like to add to my collection, it’s one of those bags that I’m not willing to pay a premium for. I check from time to time to see if there’s a good deal on one that’s in great or excellent condition on any of the resale sites, but rarely do I come across exactly what I’m looking for at what I’m willing to pay.

Well, if a vintage Louis Vuitton Croissant bag is something you, too, are on the lookout for, you better run to the resale market. Why?

Because the Louis Vuitton Croissant MM is back.

An Icon Returns

Chatter for the upcoming year’s Louis Vuitton collection began early last month on tPF, much of which is very, very exciting, albeit pricey, but I digress. While there are a lot of exciting (and enticing) updates, what sent me into a tailspin was the Croissant’s return.

When Louis Vuitton introduced the Loop Bag in late 2021, it was said to be inspired by an icon from the early 2000s. Yes, you guessed it right, the Croissant Bag. Its shape was given an update with modern touches, but while it was inspired by archives, it wasn’t exactly a revival.

However, this season, the original makes its return. The Monogram Croissant MM, which is rumored to drop on January 1st, will retail for $3,100. This was confirmed today when the product popped up among the new assortment, showing its availability for pre-order, though the link itself has not yet been updated.

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available, and be sure to join in on all the talk happening now on tPF!

This is good to know. I recently told a friend she should bring her Croissant bag back into rotation. She bought it in 2004 or thereabouts. I could do without the mini-bag (can’t wait for this trend to die down) that is dangling pointlessly. The strap redesign reminds me of Prada Arque.
