It was nearly four years ago now that Gucci first introduced its Marmont collection. The bags debuted for fall/winter 2016 and almost instantly they became a beloved choice for celebrities, influencers (oh, but of course), as well as everyday handbag lovers just like us. Since its creation, the Marmont line has been expanded and re-imagined countless times (check out the brand’s new canvas version here), and each time we are reminded why we love the Marmont line.
Fresh for spring/summer, Gucci has given its Marmont bags a revamp by introducing perfect pastel hues finished with shiny silver hardware. Pastel for spring isn’t groundbreaking but it is a major push from brands this season, and atop the Marmont they look perfectly pretty. The archival double G hardware’s inspiration came from a Gucci buckle from the 70s and it shines in brushed silver atop the smooth, candy-colored leather.
These bags are more on the novelty side, offering a pretty pop to any handbag lover’s wardrobe. Additionally, they are a great choice for anyone who has loved the Marmont bags in the past, but shied away from them because of the gold hardware. For a pastel that acts more like a neutral, there’s the pale pink option, while the multi-colored iterations make a true statement. Gucci’s Marmont bags have consistently been a reliable choice for handbag lovers, perfectly combining fashion with function regardless of the silhouette. Gorgeous!!! Gucci’s strength is in their variations of a particular shape. Good balance of usable variations and season/trendy colorways.
I wanna eat it!! Haha looks like ice cream and sorbets… love those pastel colors it feels so cool to the eyes.
The multi colored bag made me giggle since it reminded me of the colorful bag I carried to school in 5th grade. (My poor Mom gave in to my unprecedented indulgences). My sole purpose to carry it was to fill it with candy to share with my friends. Silly, fun memories.
SHW deserves a big hurray!!! I look forward seeing these colors out in the wild and on Instagram, just because they look so sweet and childish, but would not buy one of these particular ones myself, as I don’t care for the marmont line at all, not my cup of tea. 🙂
