Buy Salvatore Ferragamo at Saks

Salvatore Ferragamo may be known for shoes, but the new line of handbags has me swooning. Not just a little bit of love, but there is a heavy amount of lust, or yearning, of floating on cloud 9. Part of the problem that many of us face with Ferragamo handbags is that we do not see the full line, the entire array. If only there were the entire collection available at Saks or Neiman Marcus, I know the sales online would sky rocket.

The Ferragamo office in NYC decided to tempt Purse Blog in a way that is just wrong, sending us the Salvatore Ferragamo Oversized Carlotta Alligator Tote to review. (more…)

Salvatore Ferragamo Apollonia Bag

Salvatore Ferragamo is a brand known for its ready-to-wear and picturesque shoes (that are divinely comfortable might I add). The shoes are statement pieces that stand on their own immaculately. But the handbags from Salvatore Ferragamo are not as well known as the shoes, but they should be. While I have not loved every Ferragamo bag, I have found an ultimate drool-worthy bag from the company, one so lovely that it is officially on my want/need list. The Salvatore Ferragamo Apollonia Bag radiates this sort of subtle perfection, this simplistic look that just has me infatuated. This bag stands out and has a different look to its exotic body, seeing as it is made with black and white hardwick, which is a type of huge reticulated python that weighs in at over 200 lbs. The skin does look different, very uniform, very patterned. But for me, it flows wonderfully. And who was caught wearing this bag? None other than refined simplicity herself, Reese Witherspoon. The picture of Reese carrying this bag only sealed the deal for me, putting it on a person and showing me how beautiful it is! The bag comes from the Spring/Summer 2008 collection and is available in Ferragamo boutiques for about $3,350. You can also buy Ferragamo bags through Saks.

salvatore ferragamo clutch

Monday is obviously all about metallics. While too much metallic on too large a handbag can be too dominant. Spice up your wardrobe with metallic accessories, such as a clutch. I am in love with the cute and feminine Salvatore Ferragamo Gancio Banshee Clutch. Always a fan of Ferragamo shoes, the handbags have slowly made their way into my handbag spectrum. Meticulously designed, like the shoes, this Ferragamo clutch is designed with a textured leather and features a section of woven detail with tasseled drawstrings in on the front. The slight bronze leather is rich and stunning, offering the perfect meeting of playful and sophisticated. A fold over flap pocket leads way to canvas lining and an interior zip along with 3 open pockets. Don’t be fooled, this hand candy is a substantial size, measuring 14″W X 8″H X 1″D. While the price is high, the size and craftsmanship behind the brand make it understandable. The perfect metallic clutch, buy via Saks for $950.

Salvatore Ferragamo Dama Tote

A fashion staple are sexy simple shoes and a sexy practical bag. Do you ever notice how the perfect pair of jeans and a perfect fitting white tee can be the sexiest outfit ever? The same goes for a handbag. Refined and to-the-point is just as sassy and elegant as ornate. My go to designer for great shoes that are easy to wear for many occasions is Salvatore Ferragamo. Looks to me like Ferragamo is attempting to make its way into the handbag world with the same idea in mind; slowly conquer with usable bags. This is exactly what is being done with the Salvatore Ferragamo Dama Tote. I’d opt for the creamy and luscious magnolia leather which is intricately pieced together. The only detail that pulls the eyes in are the small tabs that continue up to the top handles and rings. Dimensions are 10 3/5″H x 15 3/4″W x 5 1/5″D. Come on in Spring and Summer, buh-bye gloomy and weird late snowy winter. Via Neiman Marcus for $1090.

Salvatore Ferragamo Fiera Print Tote Bag

This is precisely what happens when a designer has absolutely no idea what to do next. Salvatore Ferragamo, I love your shoes, have had crushes on a few of your bags, but this bag is down right nasty looking. There must be some sort of protocol or list that had to be met for the season; as in there must be 15 new bags produced. The first few are always the easiest (hopefully), then comes more thinking involved, then when you are just at 14 and really needing that last one you put all the extra scrap material together and make a smorgasbord bag. Gag. So here is the smorgasbord handbag, the Salvatore Ferragamo Fiera Print Tote Bag. Granted this is called the ‘signature carnival print’, this print is still nothing but awful in my opinion. There is also randomly placed leather trim which partially breaks up the pattern of lions, tigers, bears… OH MY. Fugtastic through Saks for $840.

Salvatore Ferragamo Ganci Leather Shoulder Bag Labor day has passed, but white is still completely hot and completely perfect for winter. For your winter wonderland bag, take a look at the Salvatore Ferragamo Ganci Leather Shoulder Bag which combines silky magnolia cream kidskin, black edging, and a pleated body. The shoulder straps are what catch my attention because of their wooden ring insets. Granted I have not seen this bag in person, but the belted gussets with wooden Gancini buckles take away from the wooden ring shoulder strap. One or the other would be a better option. Ferragamo has designed a bag that is worthy of consideration: via Neiman Marcus for $1150.

Salvatore Ferragamo Sami Kidskin Handbag Brown and simple the Salvatore Ferragamo Sami Kidskin Hobo can be toted for everyday wear and no fuss. This rich leather bag sports a few quilted accents and ruched detailing on the side of the bag. Silvertone hardware is sleek and simple. This hobo bag also has double shoulder straps, a top zip closure, canvas lining and inside pockets. Measuring 8″H X 14″L X 6″W, this bag is as simple as it seems via Saks for $1190.

Salvatore Ferragamo Fur Trim Haircalf Bag

So far I think animal print day has gone well. But there is always the bad. Let me introduce you to the ugly duckling cousin of the Zebra. The Salvatore Ferragamo Fur Trim Haircalf Bag is way too much for my liking. This bag is designed from Zebra-print haircalf along with rabbit fur patch pockets. I bet the rabbit fur will automatically turn some of you away from the bag, that is, if you haven’t already decided this bag is a no go thanks to its first impression. The bag has a zip top closure and double shoulder straps. On the inside you won’t find more fur, thank god, but you will find zipper and open pockets along with cotton canvas lining in soft pink. I even think the ‘soft’ pink would still be too much to handle with the busy outside. This bag sizes up at 8″H X 16 ½”L X 6″W and costs an over priced $1650 via Saks. I guess each animal has its own odd man out.

Salvatore Ferragamo Llama Leather Puff Bag I’m starting off with a warning right now; any of you who are not fans of baby exotic furs, don’t read on! But for those of us who appreciate handbags designed from different animal furs, this bag may be a supple secret you were searching for. The Salvatore Ferragamo Llama/Leather Puff Bag is crafted from luxurious baby llama (I know, having to say the word ‘baby’ in there even makes me cringe just a little bit). I can’t help but notice that even from the picture, this bag looks so soft I think I could use it as a small pillow, doze off to la-la land, and not even need to count sheep/llamas to fall asleep. The bag crafted from a structured frame style with a zip top closure and double strap handles with adjustable buckles. On the inside, you will find nylon lining along with a zip and open pocket. Measuring 14″H X 18″L X 5″W, I think this handbag may cause quite the controversy. Don’t shoot the messenger; I can’t help that I think the llama fur looks oh-so-soft! For the bold and daring that can stand up against PETA, buy this handbag via Saks for $1850.

Salvatore Ferragamo Leather HandbagWho of you watched Newlyweds religiously? Yeah, me too.

Jessica Simpson is always sporting the latest fashion and doing a fine job at it (if only we could all look like her everyday when we woke up right?) Did you see the cute green Salvatore Ferragamo Leather Handbag she was sporting at the end of this season? I bet you didn’t even know what the bag was but wanted so badly to figure it out so you could possibly buy the bag and hope to wake up in the morning as gorgeous as she is.

Salvatore Ferragamo Leather Handbag it is. Jessica was seen sporting it in a green color and right now Saks is carrying Capri Blue. The bag shows off a big silver buckle (the signature lock closure) with a zippered top. Best part is the three inside pockets: one zip, one open, one cell phone. This leather hobo is large enough to carry a whole lotta other cool stuff that you may or may not own measuring in at 17″L X 9″H X 3½”W. Slight draw back, the price. I suppose if you are Jessica Simpson $1,080 means nothing, but to the everyday Jane that’s quite the tag. My advice, work harder.
