Earlier this month, we gave you guys a newsworthy reminder: the Dior Saddle Bag was making its way back into the fashion world, and we wanted to know your thoughts. Well, today we’re back with another announcement: The Dior Saddle Bag is officially back in stores. As of today, July 19, you can get your hands on one and try it on, live and in person. While some of you said you would rather leave the past in the past, Amanda and I are kinda digging the return of this early 2000s cult favorite. The oldest bag in my closet is my mini Dior Saddle Bag, which, if you follow us on Instagram, you may have seen out and about on Instastories, so it should come as no surprise that I’ve fallen for the Dior Saddle Bag all over again! I couldn’t wait to get my hands on one, and I was thrilled when our friends over at Dior sent us a few to take a look at.

While it’s clear that logo love is back, I was drawn to the leather versions this time around, versus the logo fabric saddle bags. The medium saddle bag in leather gets an A+ from me in almost every category. It’s super chic, but also functional! Despite the fact that the interior is still a bit of an odd shape, I was able to fit everything that I would need—my regular-size iPhone, a card case, miscellaneous cosmetics, my sunglasses in a thin pouch, and even a little ziplock bag full of almonds. (I never go far without a snack!) The interior of the medium, as well as the interior of the mini (shown below) has a zippered pocket and is lined in lush suede. Both sizes feature a magnetic closure, unlike its predecessors, which had a velcro closure—my, how times have changed! The craftsmanship and quality of this bag are what you would expect from Dior, and the leather has a really nice hand, though it is a bit on the delicate side. Overall dimensions of the medium saddle bag in calfskin leather with aged, gold-tone accents are 10″ x 8″ x 2.6″, which retails for $3,250. Discover more via Dior.
Both sizes of the saddle bag only have a top handle strap. The mini works well in the crook of your arm or hand-carried, but the medium size can also be worn comfortably over the shoulder. While the mini version is incredibly cute and charming, the interior is really, really tiny and won’t fit very much at all, a problem made a bit worse by the unique saddle shape. You kind of have to organize your stuff in an odd way so that it fits in just right. Like the medium, the mini has a gusseted construction. While the fashion factor is high, the function factor on the mini is super low. This bag would work great for a night out, but I wouldn’t recommend purchasing if you wanted to use it for a day bag, too. However, the adorable mini factor makes it really easy to fall in love with. This fit my phone, a super thin card case, a lipstick, a chapstick and not much else. Overall dimensions of the Mini Saddle are 7.8″ x 6.3″ x 2.6″, which retails for $2,600. Discover more via Dior.
Cmon guys, the saddle is the best thing since sliced bread! Granted if you don’t own any dior bags then I’d certainly recommend purchasing a lady dior and then a diorama in that order – but if you’ve got those and you’re looking to buy a bag this year then the SADDLE BAG is the way to go!
I am on the fence about this bag. On one hand I like it but there is just something about it that I am not sure about. I have considered a Lady Dior a few times but always ended up with Chanel or Gucci. I think if I buy a Dior in the near future it would still be a mini LD.
dior can have a couple of styles and also the ability to be able to wear it cross body and make the shoulder strap detachable and voila!!!! this bag used to be under a $ 1000 and is now $ 2600?
I saw someone rocking this on Instagram and it looked amazing.
It’s nice but I would never buy a new one for over $3,000 when you can get an original for under $1000.
looks nice but the price is absolutely ridiculous
The Saddle Bag cost $600 when it first came out. That’s all I’m going to say…
I love Dior, but as a middle-aged woman I try to stay away from anything with the name “saddle bags” in it.
LOL
Hilarious!
3k? Yikes…. I have noticed this bag everywhere on blogs, clearly they’ve given tons to influencers and for marketing! I think I would invest in a classic like the lady bag first.
Yes, i have seen this bag on at least 10 + blogger/vloggers now. i feel as if it is a free bag. I am not buying a free bag. Alex of HRH collection did a great vid on her saddle baga
Totally! It totally distorts the reality of the costs of these goods. It also seems inauthentic of what catches on with shoppers, as a “hot bag”.
I get luxury brands don’t buy print ads like back in the day, but this campaign seems excessive! Many posts are not saying they are sponsored which I find very misleading.

Good article.
Good article.
agree, those pesky bloggers who will do anything for a dollar
Why are people complaining about the bag costing £££ when it came out? It was nearly 20 years ago! Pretty much EVERYTHING was cheaper back then! Im pretty sure a Chanel classic flap wasnt even £1000 then.
Gosh, didn’t take long for that bag to have dings and scratches. But, the leather is just gorgeous otherwise.
The bag will smell like an armpit in no time.
I doubt anymore than any other shoulder bag w short straps.
They look cute in pictures and on store shelves. The end.
