The Joseph Duclos Bags We Spotted in Paris, France

The under-the-radar French brand embodies quiet luxury. In collaboration with Joseph Duclos.

Joseph Duclos BITW Paris

Since the French brand’s relaunch in 2021 under Creative Director Ramesh Nair, Joseph Duclos has successfully created a place for itself amongst the most knowledgeable luxury bag enthusiasts. We have a thread on the PurseForum about Joseph Duclos that lets you in on the secret, with bag-lovers who understand and appreciate the details of every element of a luxury bag.

In fact, many of them are Hermès fans who want to expand for various reasons, being well-acquainted with the leather, colors, and design details that go into crafting a bag. They care about the actual craftsmanship, and Joseph Duclos delivers with flying colors.

The brand is steeped in luxury French roots and characterized by impeccable design. Although our corner of the internet is familiar with the brand, it remains one of those ‘if you know you know‘ brands for the majority of the bag world. While some love to keep secrets, I love to share. Better bags for all should be my tagline!

Spotted on the Streets of Paris

While the phrase ‘quiet luxury’ has become somewhat oversaturated, a brand like Joseph Duclos embodies what that phrase truly means. It focuses on quality and craftsmanship, history and design, as well as beauty and elegance.

While Joseph Duclos’ most popular bag, the Diane, may be recognizable due to its standout jewelry-like hardware, some of the other designs are still lesser known.

And so, we took to the streets of Paris, to see what Joseph Duclos bags are being carried and how they look against the city of lights (and the home of Joseph Duclos).

From a classic black Diane bag to a more casual but still luxe tote, we spotted a little bit of everything the brand has to offer (however, I would suggest you go back to see some of the many special orders tPFers have purchased!).

We even had the chance to meet a Joseph Duclos superfan, who has been purchasing multiple bags from the brand and is both a connoisseur and a fanatic. The end result of seeing these bags being carried and worn is that Joseph Duclos embodies what many of us are looking for in a bag, and the brand is just getting started.

A little bit weird to say in your title: “spotted in Paris”, while this is clearly an organized shoot.

Some of these really only come to life when carried. They are quite beautiful actually.

This brand is beautiful and embodies quiet, refined sophistication. I hope one day to own one.

The “Diane” is stunning! I’m not a Birkin fan at all. I’d rather have a few “Diane’s” in different colours.

The Diane L26 is my dream bag. One for the bucket list and much prettier than a Hermes! Love the hardware details.

I have the Diane messenger in heritage. One of my favorite bags, and I’m an Hermès loyalist LOL

Miss_D

You are loyal to the hermes brand, not a loyalist. 😂

Very beautiful bags. I’m curious to know more about- like how much do they cost?

Maxine
