Coach Debuts Fall 2017 Ad Campaign Featuring the Brand New Bandit Bag

The Bandit isn't the only new bag that takes a starring role in the ads

One of the great joys of fashion is a designer’s ability to build a stylized aesthetic world in which shoppers feel like they can participate via their wardrobes. Runway shows, celebrity placements, boutique design and the clothes and accessories themselves are all big elements of this, but perhaps nowhere is the vision as complete as it is in a brand’s advertising, which is why fashion watchers dissect new ad campaigns so carefully. The latest of these new campaigns is Coach‘s Fall 2017 ads, and they include a couple brand new designs that are well worth a look.

The biggest debut of this campaign is the Coach Bandit Hobo, which is a simple, slouchy shoulder bag that hides a pretty big surprise inside: it’s actually two bags in one. When carried all together, the interior of the bag has three large compartments, but the middle one is removable and can be carried on its own as a small shoulder bag or clutch. The outer bag can also be carried without the interior compartment if you want to lighten your load or prefer less forced handbag organization. For now, the Bandit comes in one size and is available via Coach for $695.

The second bag you’ll notice in the western-inflected ads is the Coach Dakotah Satchel, whose rigid top handle is similar to that of the popular Rogue Bag. The structure of the Dakotah is bigger and curvier, though, with an optional crossbody strap instead of the Rogue’s two hidden shoulder straps.

The ads also include new seasonal variations on favorites like the Dinky, plus a couple attractive men’s bags. Check out the ads below, as well as a closer look at a few bags.
