Proenza Schouler PS1 Linen and Leather Clutch via Net-a-Porter for $735.

This may sound crazy, but I swear that when I first laid eyes on the Proenza Schouler PS1 Linen and Leather Clutch, the room immediately felt a few degrees cooler. Things are starting to heat up in Atlanta, as always happens so quickly after we get those first few perfect spring days, and ceiling fans and air conditioners are working overtime to keep everyone below the Mason-Dixon Line from going outside, lying facedown in the grass and falling asleep in the sun. This clutch, though, made me feel like I was standing right under a vent with the temperature turned all the way down.

I love, love, love linen, but we all know why it’s problematic – oh, the wrinkles. Sitting, standing, crossing your legs, walking, there’s nothing you can do to keep your linen pristine besides standing stark still like a mannequin, and unless your job is to be one of those creepy human “mannequins” in a shop window, that’s probably not going to work out for you. What will work is a linen clutch, where the material is pulled tight and not subject to lots of pesky body movement.

Not only does this clutch provide a heavy dose of the classic summer woven, but it also has enough tan and white leather to satisfy those who prefer their bags a little more luxe than your average canvas bag. The combination of colors is neutral but still interesting, and all three colors manage to both stand out and work together. If you’re looking for a summery clutch that won’t compete with your bright warm-weather outfits, then look no further. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $735.

A beautiful clutch for spring. (Unfortunately I’d never be able to keep it clean).

Pretty clutch. I don’t like the PS1 handbags, but I do love this clutch. But just by looking at it, I can already see the straps being permanently turned up. Okay on a handbag but not so much on the clutch.

I’m glad another person doesn’t care for PS1 bags. personally i don’t see what’s the fuss is about a schoolbag. but i like this clutch i although agree with you re the straps even though i’m partial to this color and like this color…

I think the fabric gives it a short shelf life.

Okay, this may be hypocritical because I did like the sweater-type PS clutches, but this reminds me of an expensive potato sack. I really am not fond of neutrals in the tan family, though, so I’m biased against it already.

Love this clutch! Its so pretty I could almost justify the price!!!

I love the look of the neutral color blocking, but the upkeep of the fabric (and the price!) worries me. Love it though, and I’m obsessed with all things PS.

This bag is a real eye-catcher. The white and tan leathers enrich the look and actually seem to accentuate the linen. Gorgeous!

I’m sorry but I really think the white leather part looks like they left some packing material in… You know how sometimes you get those white cardboard “feet” inside new shoes, and tissue paper in some wallets… Looks like that to me!
(Which is really upsetting, cause otherwise it’s lovely!!)

      totally agree!

i’ve seen it in person and the white leather does not look like this. it looks very luxe.

This is quite nice. I am not a clutch person rather the opposite, I love big bags. But I think I’d rock this for the summer when going out. The maintenance of this bag wouldn’t be a problem because I change bags nearly everyday.
